How to identify anal inversion
Mainly look at the presence and condition of the reproductive protrusions and the development of the splay wall
Method:
Catching and holding chicks: Commonly used clamping and group gripping methods
Feeding and anal turning
Identification and release of chicks
Note:
Time: Within 12 hours after hatching. During this period, the characteristics of the reproductive bulge of male and female chicks are most obvious. More than 24 hours after hatching, the anus becomes tight and difficult to open, and the reproductive ridge shrinks and even sinks deep into the cloaca, making it difficult to observe.
Appropriate light: When identifying the anus, light must be used to observe the fine structure of the external genitalia. Appropriate light is very important. Usually, a 40-60W incandescent lamp with a reflector is selected as the light source. The light is concentrated and is conducive to observation. The light is too bright, although it is easy to observe, it is very irritating to the eyes and can easily cause fatigue.
The movements should be light and quick: otherwise the anus may be easily damaged.
If the time is too long, the anus will be easily covered by feces or exudates, or the mucous membrane will be congested, making identification more difficult.
Put it upside down with its feet up, and see if it is struggling with its head bent toward the abdomen. The female, the one struggling with her back is the male! whee! I don’t quite understand so I have to look at other people’s!
