Ruan (1910.4.26—1935.3.8). Formerly known as Ruan Fenggen. China was a famous movie star in the silent film period and one of the four beauties in the Republic of China. Born in Shanghai, his ancestral home is Xiangshan County, Guangdong Province (now a native of Zuobutou Village, Nanlang, Zhongshan). Because of her father's early death, Ruan did housework with her mother since childhood, and her mother saved money for her school. 1926, in order to support his mother, Ruan was admitted to a star film company and began his film art career, such as Wild Grass Flower, Goddess and New Woman. After Ruan became famous, he was in trouble because of the reputation dispute with Tang Jishan. He committed suicide by taking sleeping pills on 1935 Women's Day. The bad news shocked the film industry, and all parties expressed their condolences. More than 200,000 people in Shanghai took to the streets to pay homage, and the team stretched for three miles. For this reason, Mr. Lu Xun once wrote "On People's Words to Be Awed". Ruan Yuling appeared in 29 films before his death, but only 9 films survived the troubled times.
