Manjushri Bodhisattva, whose Sanskrit name is Ma?ju?rī, is transliterated as Manjushri, Manjushri and Manzushili. Also known as Manjushri Tongzhen and Rutong Manjushri Bodhisattva. As one of the four great Bodhisattvas of Buddhism, Manjusri is one of the parents of Buddha and a symbol of wisdom. Manjushri Bodhisattva is shaped like a boy, with a five-knot crown on his head. He holds a diamond sword in his right hand and a green lotus in his left hand. The mount beneath him is a domineering lion, which controls the supreme wisdom of heaven and earth.
The diamond sword held in his right hand symbolizes the power of wisdom, which can slay demons and cut off all worries; the green lotus on his left hand is engraved with the Vajra Prajna Sutra, symbolizing the supreme wisdom; he collects the lion. Being a lion symbolizes intelligence and might, invincibility, invincibility, and invincibility. In ancient times, Manjushri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva were together known as the virtuous and virtuous attendants of Sakyamuni Buddha. They were known as the "Three Saints of Huayan" in the world. The Yinghua Taoist Temple was located in Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province, which is the first of the four major Buddhist holy sites in the country.
It is said that Manjusri Bodhisattva was originally the son of a Brahmin from the Dora settlement in Savatthi State. However, he later wanted to find immortals to seek immortality, but to no avail. Finally, he converted to Buddhism, became a monk and studied Taoism, and lived in Shurangama. Samadhi, doing rare and difficult things. It was not until the Buddha was 5,400 years old after his nirvana that he went to the Snow Mountain, preached twelve sutras to five hundred immortals, and entered nirvana under the Nikuruta tree. According to Buddhist scriptures, Manjushri Bodhisattva is also the teacher of countless Buddhas in the past, guiding countless practitioners to achieve Buddhahood. In the Alms Bowl Sutra, the Buddha also said: I have become a Buddha now because of the kindness of Manjushri Bodhisattva! Countless Buddhas in the past were all disciples of Manjushri, and those who will become Buddhas in the future will also be caused by the majestic power of Manjushri Bodhisattva. Just like children in the world have parents, Manjushri is the parent of all sentient beings in the Buddhist path. This shows how high the status of Manjushri Bodhisattva is in Buddhism.
The image of Manjushri Bodhisattva is changeable. According to its image, it can be divided into one-character, five-character, six-character and eight-character Manjushri. The most common one is the five-character Manjushri. The Five Bun Manjusri is named after the five buns tied on its head. The five buns represent the five kinds of wisdom.
