After Xiang Fei entered the palace, she was depressed all day because she missed her hometown. In order to appease this alien princess, Emperor Qianlong built this Bao Yue Tower. Bao Yue Building was built in the spring of the 23rd year of Qianlong (1758) and completed in the autumn of that year. When you climb the Bao Yue Tower, you can overlook the Three Seas in the north, the market in the south, the Forbidden City in the east and the Yuanshan Mountain in the west. It is a good place to enjoy the moon near the water and has the artistic conception of the Guanghan Palace in the middle of the month, so it is named "Bao Yue Tower".
xinhua gate structure
xinhua gate is a two-story building with seven bays on each floor. * * * has three doors on the first floor, and there is a chessboard with three characters of "xinhua gate" on the door frame, which is hung under the eaves in front of the building. A large national emblem is hung on the eaves on the second floor.
right in front of the main entrance is a large screen wall with blue bricks to the top, and on the screen wall are five gold words of "serving the people" with gold foil. Xinhua gate is flanked by stone lions and eight-character walls with slogans engraved on them. There is a national flagpole erected in front of Xinhua.
