Wu Zetian was a monkey, Cixi was a sheep, and Empress Dowager Cixi was a sheep. The hexagram book says that nine out of ten sheep are incomplete, which is vividly shown in this old lady.
Wu Zetian, a native of Wenshui in Bingzhou, was the second daughter of the warrior Xun, the governor of Jingzhou. Together with Gaozong, she was known as the "Two Saints" and was the only orthodox female emperor in Chinese history. He was selected as a talented person by Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty and was given the title "Wu Mei".
The origin of Cixi’s name
In folklore or film and television works, the Empress Dowager Cixi is generally called Laner or Magnolia. Perhaps because Cixi's first title after entering the palace was "Lan Guiren", many novel notes mistakenly believed that "Lan'er" was her nickname, but in fact it was not.
According to Yehenala Genzheng, a descendant of Cixi’s family, Cixi’s nickname was actually “Xing’er Gu”. “Gu” is a common Manchu name for underage girls, while “Xing’er Gu” The name "Xing'er" came from the fact that there were several white apricot trees planted in the courtyard of her home at that time. Therefore, Cixi's grandfather gave her the nickname "Xingzhen" and the nickname "Xing'er", which means "loyalty".
As for Emperor Xianfeng’s first title of Miss Xingzhen, it was probably because Xianfeng liked magnolias the most, so he gave her such a title to express his love for Xingzhen.
