Summary of Yan Monument

Yan Zhenqing (AD 709-785), Chen Qing, was born in Jingzhao Wannian (now Xi 'an). Xuanzong, a Kaiyuan native, was once the prefect of the Plain, and later the Duke of Lu, known as "Yan Pingyuan" and "Yan Lugong". He was good at calligraphy, studied under Chu Suiliang and Zhang Xu, and became a great master.

The full name of "the tablet of Yan State" is "the history of Tang envoys, governors, military guards and the Shinto of Yan Army". This tablet was written by Yan Zhenqing and engraved in Chang 'an in the 14th year of Tang Dali. Inscriptions are engraved on four sides, with 38 words in all: Yang stele 19 lines and Yin stele 20 lines. One side has five lines and 37 characters, and the other side has been worn away since the Tang Dynasty. The original stone was submerged for a long time, and it was put out in Xi in 1922 10, and there was a forest of steles in Xi 'an.

"Li Yanqin Monument" was written by a calligrapher who was about 70 years old. At that time, his calligraphy art was in full swing. The Monument to Li Yanqin is his masterpiece in his later years, and it is also the best model for future generations to learn Yan Shu. There are no old rubbings in this monument. When unearthed, the word "ancient" on the rubbings happened to be the place where the stone broke, but the brushwork was still complete. At present, the first extended rare copy flowed into Japan and was hidden by individuals, so the word "so" was still good in the end. Li Yanqin Monument photocopied and published this rare book for readers in Yan Shu.
