The glorious course of Shiqiao Middle School

In the early 1960s, China's national economy was in an extremely difficult period, and the CPC Central Committee put forward the eight-character policy of "adjusting, consolidating, enriching and improving" to develop the national economy. In order to save financial expenses, secondary and higher education institutions in China at that time closed down, closed down, merged and transferred. By the mid-1960s, with the increase of teenagers, many people had no place to study. In order to solve these contradictions, the CPC Central Committee adopted the policy of "walking on two legs", that is, in addition to running well the public schools that were preserved at that time, we should also vigorously develop private education. Run some industrial schools in urban factories and mines and some agricultural schools in rural areas. Therefore, under the supervision of the County Education Bureau, Shiqiao People's Commune Agricultural Middle School (hereinafter referred to as Shiqiao Agricultural Middle School) was formally established on May 4 1965 after preparation and enrollment, and the inaugural meeting and the first opening ceremony were held on this day. At the meeting, Mr. Wei Yongshi, who is in charge of the agricultural (industrial) school by the county education bureau, and Comrade Zheng, the propaganda Committee member of Shiqiao Commune, made important speeches successively, and all the brothers sent congratulatory letters.

Shiqiao Agricultural Middle School enrolled about 70 students in the first grade at that time. Students come from three sources: Maqiao junior high school students who stopped studying, students who graduated from primary school for several years, and students who did not graduate from primary school, so their education level is uneven. Some students leave school early to arrange work because of the needs of the brigade.

The school building was ugly and simple, so it borrowed the office of Tuanlin Brigade (now Tuanlin Village) at that time. Students bring their own desks and stools. The school has reclaimed more than 30 acres of wasteland in Zhoujiayuan of Tuanlin Brigade as a base for teachers and students to learn agriculture. When it was founded, Shiqiao Agricultural School had only five full-time faculty members. Li (party member) was the principal, Li Shenghuai and Liu Jiaqing were teachers, the rest were canteen cooks, and Wu Jiting was an agricultural worker. At that time, Jin Debao, secretary of the Party branch of Tuanlin Brigade, was hired as an agricultural production consultant. The salaries of teaching staff and the funds for running schools are mainly borne by Shiqiao People's Commune, and the Education Bureau only makes appropriate subsidies.

The system of agricultural middle schools is a work-study system (run by the people). Learning is the main task in slack seasons and rainy days; In the busy farming season, productive labor is the main task in order to grab the harvest and seeds. Under normal circumstances, I study in the morning and work in the afternoon. During the teaching time, the teacher teaches the main courses of junior high school and offers Chinese, mathematics, politics and production skills. In addition, through the income obtained from participating in productive labor, we strive to achieve semi-self-sufficiency in rations for teachers and students (because rural farmers implemented the system of distributing rations according to work at that time). The school has set up a "School Affairs Management Committee", which is composed of principals, representatives of faculty and students, and makes decisions on major issues of the school. The school has set up a Youth League branch, with teacher Li Shenghuai as its secretary and two students as its members.

Due to the increase of students and classes, the agricultural base of agricultural middle school was used for other purposes. On September 1965, it was moved to the then Yongxing Brigade (now Yongning Weicun), and the original grain depot was used as a classroom. The agricultural base was also equipped near the teaching area. In order to solve the difficulties in running a school, Shiqiao Agricultural Middle School was relocated for the second time. 1August, 966, moved to the fry farm (namely Zhoujiayuan, the former agricultural base) established by the then Shiqiao People's Commune Fisheries Management Committee and merged with it. Organizationally, a school party branch was established, with Yao, director of the management committee, as party branch secretary and Li, president, as party branch member. The school has set up a youth league branch. The salaries of school staff and the funds for running the school are borne by the management Committee, which has achieved the goal of supporting the school with farmland. Shiqiao Agricultural Middle School has delivered many valuable talents for the agricultural production of Shiqiao People's Commune. Due to the needs of the development of education, the state increased the investment in education funds, and Shiqiao Agricultural Middle School moved for the third time. From 65438 to 65438 in 0969, it was moved to Shiqiao Primary School (the former site of adult school) and officially renamed as public Shiqiao junior high school. Shiqiao junior middle school teachers come from three sources: first, agricultural middle school teachers Li Sihan and Li Shenghuai; Second, some primary school teachers Zhan Shengren, Zhan, Yang Qilu, Ji Zishu and Wang Gen have been selected; Three, the new distribution of college graduates Ding Taitang, Cui, Cui Zhiyu, Zhan Shengli. Shiqiao junior high school is composed of Wang Gen, Li and Zhan. 1in March, 970, Shiqiao junior high school enrolled the first full-time junior high school class, with more than 40 students, including students brought from rural middle schools. Primary schools and junior high school teachers worked together. Comrade Wang Gen was an old revolutionary and veteran cadre in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period. He was once the director of the Revolutionary Committee of Shiqiao Junior Middle School and was responsible for school work. 197 1 March, Shiqiao commune junior high school required an increase in the number of students, and there were not enough classrooms in Shiqiao junior high school. So, in the primary schools of Taocun Brigade, Xintai Brigade and Xing Yong Brigade of Shiqiao Commune, a junior high school class was enrolled, with the number of students ranging from 20 to 30, which was called "wearing a hat" junior high school. However, due to the scattered junior high school students and the shortage of teachers, many courses cannot be offered, especially mathematics, English and chemistry (chemistry was called "basic knowledge of industry" in the first year), and there are no teachers, while the teachers in Shiqiao junior high school are relatively strong. In addition, the teaching conditions in these teaching points are extremely simple, and the desks are all made of mud. So,1March, 972, three classes of Grade One and Grade Three in primary schools of each brigade were merged into Shiqiao Junior High School and made into two classes of Grade Two. This year, there were five classes in the middle school of Shiqiao junior high school (one class in grade three; There are two classes in Grade Two and Grade One, plus several classes in primary school. But at that time, the class size was not large and there were not many students. There are three undergraduate graduates among the teachers, namely Cui, who graduated from the English Department of Southern Anhui University, Ding Taitang, who graduated from the English Department of Hefei Normal University, and Ding Taitang, who graduated from the Chinese Department. This was really rare at that time. Although English learning was not taken seriously at that time, it still had a great influence on students. The teaching quality of Shiqiao junior middle school is constantly improving. Many Shiqiao junior high school graduates later went to high school and were admitted to universities.

Because there were only six adobe huts in the dormitory, most of the faculty at that time lived at home, leaving early and returning late. Only two teachers from other places, Mr Cui, Mr Li and Mr Ding Taitang, live on campus. Each room is less than 5 square meters, low and humid, but fortunately there is no rain leakage. The school also has a canteen, which is managed by Mr. Shu and cooked by Master Xue Chuangen. The food supply for teachers and students is very limited, mainly teachers. Thatched fire, braised rice, and often eaten raw rice have never changed, because thatched fire is too big to control, and it is either burned or burned. Raw rice left a deep impression on our teachers and students.

In June, 1973, the first graduate of Shiqiao junior high school graduated, and the school organized all the teaching staff and all the junior high school graduates to walk to the teaching building of Dangtu No.1 Middle School for a group photo. Most of the graduates this year have been promoted to the first high school class of Shiqiao Middle School. At the beginning of 1972, Shiqiao junior high school had begun to take shape, and the contradiction of insufficient school buildings was further highlighted. The school is surrounded by ditches and villages, so there is no room for development. The further development is greatly limited. There will be an extra class next year without a classroom, which has attracted the attention of school leaders and commune leaders. At the same time, according to the situation that there were several junior high schools in Dagongwei at that time and the teaching resources were very scattered, the county education bureau planned to set up one or two middle schools in Dagongwei area, but the school location was not finalized and the county education bureau could not provide funds. Shiqiao commune and school leaders seized this opportunity and demanded the completion of Shiqiao. The leaders of Shiqiao Commune attached great importance to education, which initiated the tradition of Shiqiao Party Committee and government to attach importance to education. Rong, then the head of political work in Shiqiao Commune, was in charge of education. He personally came forward and led the school leaders to find the county education bureau and county leaders for many times, indicating that the geographical location of Shiqiao in the center of Dagongxu Commune is beneficial to the convenience of students in Dagongxu Commune, indicating the enthusiasm of Shiqiao Commune's people-run high schools. After careful study by the leaders of the county, Education Bureau, Shiqiao Commune and Shiqiao Junior Middle School, it was decided that Shiqiao Middle School should be located, rebuilt and separated from primary and secondary schools. At the beginning of 1972, Shiqiao Commune made overall arrangements and sent Zheng, then the head of the township, to convene a meeting of all parties. In the form of "raising land", part of the land around Jiedong Production Team of Shiqiao Commune was allocated to Jiedong Production Team, and 33 mu of excellent fertile land of Jiedong Production Team was allocated to Shiqiao Middle School, which is now the student living area of Shiqiao Middle School. This is a great measure for Shiqiao people to run education. This work was strongly supported by the people of Jiedong production team, who sacrificed their own interests and contributed to the birth of Shiqiao Middle School.

Shiqiao junior middle school sent Mr. Zhan to prepare for Shiqiao middle school. At that time, it was experiencing the Cultural Revolution disaster and the economy was very difficult. Without funds, Shiqiao Commune launched various production brigades to support various building materials of Shiqiao Middle School. Bricks and tiles were transported to the construction site one after another, and migrant workers were assigned to the construction site to work for free. Shiqiao middle school students often go to construction sites to take part in voluntary labor of moving bricks and laying tiles. Running a school is really self-reliance, and the people educate the people and manage the people. 1in may, 972, the first phase of four rows of brick and wood bungalows in Shiqiao middle school was completed. There are 8 classrooms, 24 rooms, 8 teachers' dormitories and 4 canteens, totaling 36 rooms. In this case, farmers generally live in straw houses, and tile houses are rarely seen on stone bridges. People's lives are still in an era when food and clothing cannot be solved. It cannot be said that the government and people of stonebridge attach too much importance to education.

1September, 972, Shiqiao Middle School moved into the new campus. The primary school stayed at the original school site. All the teachers and staff went to Shiqiao Middle School except Meng Yuhua who stayed in primary school. Comrade Wang Gen continues to be the principal of the school. The teacher still lives in the original campus, living alone in the dormitory of the new campus, with two people sharing a room. The dormitory is just big enough for two beds, two tables and other things, and the door can't be opened or closed. But the conditions have been greatly improved.

In order to strengthen the leadership and teachers of Shiqiao Middle School, the County Education Bureau transferred Xia Keyu, the academic director of Tuanjie Primary School, to be the principal of Shiqiao Middle School, in charge of teaching, and assigned Chen, who graduated from the Physics Department of Anhui Normal University, and Bai, who graduated from the Chemistry Department, to be a high school teacher and a physical education teacher. When Grade 73 students enter school, there are two classes in junior high school. The first senior high school class enrolled by Shiqiao Middle School High School started, with a total of 62 students, becoming a class.

1March, 974, there were 2 1 staff, including 7 public teachers/kloc-0 and 4 private teachers. From April 65438 to April 0974, the Education Bureau assigned Zhou Huaihuai, a graduate of English Department of Anhui University, Yin, a graduate of Physics Department of Wuhu Normal University, and Xu, a graduate of Mathematics Department. In the next few years, fewer and fewer college graduates were assigned to teach in Shiqiao Middle School. Due to the increase of junior middle school classes and the shortage of teachers, Shiqiao Commune has transferred some young intellectuals from various brigades to supplement the teachers. At this time, the original canteen was not enough, so we moved to the tile group behind the teachers' dormitory. Ceramic tile group is the predecessor of Shiqiao Jian 'an Company. As early as 197 1, the bricklayer group built a row of tile-roofed offices here. Later, due to the needs of Shiqiao Middle School, the tile group moved out at 1973, and the house was left to Shiqiao Middle School, with a total of eight rooms. Three rooms in the west were transformed into canteens, and five rooms in the east were transformed into school auditoriums for students to meet and later became teachers' dormitories.
