1. Advantages and Disadvantages of Terrazzo Floor
After the terrazzo floor is highlighted, its high brightness reaches more than 70, and it also has functions such as dustproof and anti-slip. The surface of high-gloss terrazzo after high-gloss treatment is hard, and its hardness can reach level 6-8. When making high-gloss terrazzo, you can arbitrarily splice patterns and colors according to consumers' preferences, and their colors can also be customized. The terrazzo floor is not afraid of being dragged by heavy objects or being rolled over by heavy vehicles. Even if these conditions occur, it will not crack or shrink or deform. Terrazzo floors are resistant to aging and staining, are difficult to burn, and have no peculiar smell or any pollution.
Terrazzo is made of concrete, so its weight is relatively heavy. The weight of a piece of cement stone is about 5kg. The larger the stone, the heavier it is, so it is very laborious to transport. Terrazzo floors cannot be used in highly corrosive places, as this will cause severe corrosion of the terrazzo floor, thereby shortening its lifespan. There are many gaps on the terrazzo floor. If there are stains when exposed to water, they will penetrate into the ground and contaminate the terrazzo floor, making cleaning difficult.
2. Terrazzo floor construction process 1. Make the leveling layer
The leveling layer is made of 1:3 dry hard cement mortar, which is then flattened and compacted. Smooth.
2. Inlaying the grid strips
After that, cement should be used to form a splayed corner leading to the long seat, and the inlay must be firm. At this stage of construction, it should be noted that the height of cement slurry should be about three to five millimeters lower than the dividing bars, the joints should be tight, and the top surface should be at the same level, which requires relatively high construction skills.
3. Plastering the surface layer of gravel slurry
When plastering the gravel slurry, the ratio must be as required, and the surface of the gravel slurry must be rolled out at least twice with a wool sweep. For slurry, only after the stone particles are uniform can it be smoothed and compacted with an iron trowel until the slurry is overflowing. What needs to be noted here is that the corrugations must be flattened, and the stones on the top surface of the dividing strips must be cleared away.
4. Polishing
If the terrazzo floor construction area is large, a mechanical stone machine should be used for grinding. For small areas or corners, a small portable grinder can be used for grinding. For areas where mechanical grinding cannot be used, manual grinding can be used.
