Empress Filial Piety and Fu Cha's Eight Characters

Empress Xiaoxian, a native of Fu Cha, was born on February 22nd in the fifty-first year of Kangxi (17 12). Manchuria is covered with yellow flags. Manchu yellow flag is the first of the three flags, controlled by the emperor, and has a high status. Among the empresses of the Qing Dynasty, there were not many who were really born in Manchu Yellow Flag. The filial piety queen not only holds a high flag, but also comes from a noble family and marries from generation to generation. Fu Cha is one of the eight most popular surnames in Manchuria. From Taizu to Sejong, Fu Cha's family was full of talented people and famous ministers, who made more contributions to the Qing Dynasty. As early as the Nurhachi period, her ancestor Ji Wang Nu led her clan to join the late Jin Dynasty, and made many contributions in the years of unifying Northeast China and establishing an empire. Her great-grandfather, Huston, worked as a military attache in Emperor Taizong's reign and served as a deputy director of the Ministry of Rites. During the reign of Shunzhi, he served as an official of the Minister of the Interior and added the Prince Taibao. Her grandfather, Mishan, served as Minister of State during the reign of Kangxi, and served as a minister of household affairs for seven years, in charge of the country's financial power. He strongly supported Kangxi's policy of withdrawing vassals and was highly valued by Emperor Kangxi. Both Harston and Mishan were posthumously awarded as first-class heroes in May of the 13th year of Qianlong (1748). Li Rongbao, the father of Empress Hyo-hyun, is the fourth son of Mihans, and the official is the general manager of Chahar. Her uncle, Ma Qi, served as a college student in Baohe Hall for three generations in Kang Yonggan for 23 years, which was rare in Qing Dynasty. Her other uncle, Ma Wu, served as the minister in charge of the commander-in-chief and the guards. He is a senior official and a very important minister. He served the imperial court for many years and was highly valued by the emperor. Empress Hyo-hyun was born in such a high-ranking family. She received a good orthodox education since she was a child. She is proficient in etiquette and law, deeply understands the righteousness, and has a certain cultural accomplishment. In addition, she was born dignified and quiet, which can be said to be a standard lady with a good family. In a female draft in the fifth year of Yongzheng (1727), 16-year-old Fu Chashi was selected by Yong Zhengdi. Yong Zhengdi decided to marry the daughter of this noble family to the emperor's fourth son, Li Hong, who has been secretly designated as the Crown Prince as Defujin. With her unique sharp eyes, Yong Zhengdi seems to see that this dignified, beautiful and quiet girl has the qualities of a virtuous queen of the Qing Dynasty. On July 18 of this year, Yong Zhengdi held a grand wedding for Focha, the fourth son of Emperor Li Hong, in the West Second Palace of the Forbidden City (renamed China Palace after Li Hong ascended the throne). After the marriage, the young couple treated each other with affection and love. Fu Chashi is not only smart and beautiful, but also very gentle and virtuous. She did her best to honor her in-laws, pay homage to the food every day and do her duty as a daughter-in-law. She has a very harmonious relationship with her in-laws and is deeply loved by them. In the second year after marriage, Fu Cha gave birth to her eldest daughter, but the princess was born with a thin life and died at the age of two. In the fourth year of marriage, Fu Cha gave birth to the emperor's second son, and Yongzheng personally named the child "Yong Lian". According to Records of the Emperor Gaozong in Qing Dynasty (Volume 78), Yongzheng named his grandson "Yong Lian", implying that he would make this son the Crown Prince after Qianlong. In the fifth year after marriage, she gave birth to the emperor's third daughter and Princess Jing. After Qianlong ascended the throne, a ceremony was held on the fourth day of December in the second year of Qianlong (1737), and Fu Cha was appointed as the queen. Posthumous title Fu Cha, also known as the Filial Piety Queen. After Emperor Qianlong ascended the throne, he made her the Queen of the Middle Palace. The ceremony was held on the fourth day of December in the second year of Emperor Qianlong (1737).

Photo with Gan Long Although Filial Piety Queen was born in a noble family, she is not an arrogant and willful woman. On the contrary, she is thrifty by nature and doesn't like luxury. Usually, the decorative items in the palace are not jade and pearls, but simple flowers. On one occasion, Qianlong chatted with Empress Hyo-hyun about the customs outside the customs, and mentioned that when our ancestors first founded the imperial industry, their living conditions were relatively difficult, and the clothes were decorated with deer tail fluff sewn on the cuffs, instead of fine embroidery with gold thread and silver thread as in the palace now. Gan Long was just an expression at that time, but Empress Hyo-hyun deeply remembered Gan Long's words. Later, she made a silk bag out of deer tail fluff and presented it to Gan Long to show that she never forgot the true colors of Manchuria. Qianlong cherishes the purse sewn by Empress Hyo-hyun and always carries it with him. The filial piety queen's frugality and never forgetting her true colors won her admiration and respect.

Besides being thrifty by nature, Empress Hyo-hyun has deep feelings for Gan Long and cares about it. On one occasion, Emperor Qianlong suffered from severe boils, and after many treatments, he gradually recovered. However, the physician repeatedly told him to keep him for a hundred days before he could fully recover. After listening to this, Empress Hyo-hyun is still very tired, although she has to serve the Empress Dowager every day, handle the complicated affairs of the Sixth Palace and take care of the children at the same time. However, in order to ensure Ganlong's absolute recuperation without external interference, she moved to the outhouse of Ganlong's living room, served tea and medicine at any time, and carefully served Ganlong 100 days until she saw Ganlong's real recovery. After Gan Long recovered from her illness, she was very upset and moved to see the filial piety queen who had lost a lot of weight. He feels that having a good wife like Filial Piety Queen is his greatest blessing.

Empress Hyo-hyun was very organized, presided over the harem, impartial, generous and kind to eunuchs and ladies-in-waiting, and treated all the children born to concubines during the Qianlong period as her own, thus winning the respect of other concubines, and the whole harem praised her virtue. With such a virtuous queen and a harmonious court environment, Qianlong has no internal and external troubles and can concentrate on handling state affairs. Gan Long believes that all this is due to the filial piety of the Queen. He is very grateful to her and regards her as a rare wife. Apart from appreciating the virtuous virtues of the filial piety queen, what Gan Long is most satisfied with is that she is very filial to her biological mother, the Queen Mother of Chongqing. Gan Long is a dutiful son, and his filial piety to his mother is hard to see. The Empress Dowager of Chongqing was born in poverty, so she can't compare with the noble filial queen. But the filial piety queen is pure and filial, and treats the empress dowager very well. She always tries her best to make the old lady happy, and her mother-in-law and daughter-in-law get along well, just like her own mother and daughter. As a result, Qianlong was very grateful to Empress Hyo-hyun and showed more concern and respect for her.

When Qianlong was a prince, he had married ten people, including Fujin, Side Fujin and Gege. When he became emperor, he married many concubines. Among many concubines in Qianlong, Empress Hyo-hyun has the best relationship with Qianlong and won Qianlong's favor.
