Analysis of Famous Sentences in Laozi's Tao Te Ching

As can be seen from the famous saying of Laozi above, indisputable is the high realm of life and the way of life with great wisdom.

In Tao Te Ching, the author selected five famous sayings representing Lao Zi's "indisputable" thought to explain them, so as to help everyone understand Lao Zi's "indisputable" thought.

First of all, the Tao Te Ching says, "The smartest person is also stupid". Because great wise men only do things, do not seek fame and fortune, and do not show their talents to the outside world, they look ordinary and even stupid.

People's psychology of fame and gain is too strong, and they are too greedy for interests, which easily leads to career failure. Only those who struggle less for fame and fortune or who don't struggle can succeed. He who does not strive for fame and fortune is a man of great wisdom.

Second, the Tao Te Ching says, "Sages do nothing, but teach without words".

Because great wise men (saints) do not strive for fame and fortune, they only do ordinary things and do nothing all their lives. This is "inaction". Because a wise man doesn't want to be a teacher, he won't teach others with words. This is "teaching without words".

Doing nothing and having no language to teach others all show the "indisputable" thought of great wisdom (saints)

Third, Tao Te Ching says, "People above know what's below".

In other words, excellent leaders rarely do nothing because they don't fight for fame and fortune. The following people only know his existence and don't know what contribution he has made.

However, leaders without political achievements are the best. Because he gives his subordinates a high degree of trust, does not interfere with their work, and lets them decide what to do independently. Subordinates feel that they can give full play to their abilities, so the work effect of the whole unit is the best.

It is precisely because the top leaders don't pursue fame and gain that the work of this unit has been done to the extreme. This shows the benefits of "indisputable".

Fourth, Tao Te Ching says: "Good is like water", and good is like water. Water always flows from high places to low places and lives in low places. Living in low-lying areas reflects that water is "indisputable", which is indisputable. It is first-class "kindness".

Most people are pursuing high status, and water is willing to be in low-lying places. Those who are content with low-lying land, those who do not dispute, those who do not dispute have great wisdom. Zhuangzi is like this. He lived a poor life all his life. The monarch asked him to be prime minister, but he didn't go. He is a typical example of wisdom that does not strive for fame and fortune.
