Tangqi Ancient Town is located in Yuhang District, Hangzhou, at the southern end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Ancient Canal. Because canals were dug during the Sui Dynasty, migrant workers from all over the world gathered here, so it was named Tangqi (meaning to live in). The town is close to the Grand Canal, and is located at the junction of three counties and cities: Yuhang, Deqing, and Tongxiang. It has a network of river ports and developed water transportation. It has been a market town with prosperous commerce and developed culture since ancient times, with the characteristics of a Jiangnan water town. In the past, the streets and alleys in the town were connected by corridors and eaves, and the bridges on the river were densely covered. There was a poem: the city gates faced each other and locked the rainbow, and the boats rushed to the clouds to take advantage of the evening breeze. The sound of flute singing is noisy in the dream of spring, and the lights on the two corridors reflect the red stream.
