Yuhuan Folklore Stories - The Origin of Fairy Cave
Chinese fairies can fly, and presumably foreign fairies can also fly, but the way they fly is different. If Chinese fairies want to fly, they must practice the martial arts of soaring into the clouds and mists. Compared with foreign fairies, it is much easier. They are born with a pair of bird-like wings and can fly without practicing any martial arts. This is really enviable to modern people. But there is also something that Hancheng can't figure out, that is, since gods are omnipotent, why don't Chinese fairies fly airplanes even if they don't have wings? How about taking a car? If no one had invented it at that time, what would the gods do? How is that different from us mortals? Doesn’t that mean it’s a little less impressive? Haha, this is a digression. Today I will continue to tell the story of the origin of the Immortal Cave.
A long time ago, there was a fairy who neither flew a plane nor a car, but rode a cow through the clouds and mist to attend the Queen Mother's peach party. Who is this fairy? This eliminates the need for further research. Maybe no one knows Yuhuan and no one knows her name. All she knew was that she was tired from flying and wanted to find a place to rest.
She flew over the bays and over the mountains, and this day she came to a mountain. It's almost daybreak. It's surrounded by mountains on three sides. Although it's all bare, it's very quiet. It's a good place to rest, so just make do with it. So the fairy took off the hairpin from her head, dug a hole at the foot of the mountain, and slept comfortably in the hole.
The fairy slept until about three o'clock in the afternoon. She was hungry and wanted to find something to eat. She walked out of the cave in search of food. I searched all over the mountain, but couldn't find anything edible. Everywhere I looked, it was desolate and dead, with no grass growing at all. What's going on? She grabbed a handful of soil and looked at it. The soil was so dry that there was no moisture at all. She looked around and found no house. She clasped her hands in front of her chest and shouted: "Where is the land father-in-law? Come out and see me!"
At this time, I saw a puff of green smoke slowly swirling on the ground, and then an unkempt man The earth god comes out. The land god bowed his hands to the fairy, with an unhappy look on his face: "Who? How dare you disturb this master's dream. I'm going to resign, and I can't live here anymore. Why did you recruit me?" the fairy decided. One look at this land makes me feel stupid. The clothes worn by this landlord have not been washed for many years. He is dirtier than a beggar, his lips are cracked, and the dirt on his face is thicker than the door panel. As the skin on the face moved, the dirt cracked and looked like old pine bark.
The fairy was stunned for a long time before asking: "Tudong! How did you become like this? I think you were very handsome back then. Who bullied you? Where is this place?" Tudigong shook his head and said long She sighed: "Fairy, fairy! You don't know something. This place is called Yuhuan Island. In the past, Yuhuan was a beautiful and rich place. The temperature was suitable all year round, the weather was smooth, and the people lived and worked in peace and contentment. However, because of an incident ten years ago, "What happened made the Jade Emperor so angry?" the fairy asked in surprise. "Listen to me and tell me slowly." Di Di took a gulp of water and said with difficulty, "There is a big house in the south of Yangqing. It is the residence of the Yuhuan Hall. He is the only official stationed in Yuhuan by the imperial court. He is the same as the Taiping Mansion. The master of this hall is a good official who loves his people as his own son, but his wife is suspicious by nature. One day, one of her jade bracelets disappeared, and she suspected that her maid had stolen it. Yuhuan. She was mute and could not defend herself. The master and his wife beat and scolded the maid, but they were still angry and pushed the maid into the Yukan River. By the time the master knew about it, the maid was already dead. . But soon the wife of Mr. Ting found the bracelet. Mr. Ting was usually afraid of his wife and did not dare to punish his wife, so he gave the maid a rich burial and reported it to the court to change the name of the place to Yuhuan. This person's life is not just a matter of fate. The Jade Emperor and the people here were not satisfied with this result, so the Jade Emperor was so angry that he issued the edict. Fairy! Are you a coward? In Yuhuan now, everyone has fled due to drought; my Tutu Temple has been in ruins for several years, and no one has repaired it. I will leave here tomorrow and find another way out. "The fairy couldn't help but feel pity, thought for a moment, and said, "Wait a few more days. I will go to the Queen Mother to hold a peach party and ask for mercy. She will definitely be merciful and allow the Yuhuan people to return to Yuhuan. Let Yuhuan no longer suffer from drought, and everyone and you can live and work in peace and contentment."
As soon as it got dark, the fairy hurried to Yaochi. When she saw the Queen Mother, the fairy told the Queen Mother about the drought in Yuhuan. The Queen Mother told the fairy: "The penalty of 100 years of drought in Yuhuan is the law of heaven and cannot be changed. However, there is a way to alleviate the drought in Yuhuan. People's lives are basically no problem, but you have to make some sacrifices." Fairy Said: "I am willing to sacrifice myself." The Queen Mother smiled and said, it is not as serious as you think. If you do as I say, the drought in Yuhuan will soon be improved. The fairy turned around and was about to go to Yuhuan. The Queen Mother handed the fairy a spoon and a small wine cup and said, "Take this spoon and the wine cup with you. It will be useful later."
"
The fairy returned to this mountain in Yuhuan. She put her beloved horse into the cave she dug, and said to her horse: "Niu, Niu, you have followed me for so many years. , now I put you here. From now on, the water and food rations of the people of Yuhuan will depend on you. Not only will your mouth spray water, but your horns will flow out rice; if you want gold and silver, you must be as diligent as ever." After the fairy said, the cow Sure enough, water spurted out of its mouth, and rice actually flowed from its horns. Due to the long years of drought, the water sprayed out of the cave was absorbed by the ground. The fairy remembered the spoon the Queen Mother had given her, and she took the spoon. She placed it at the entrance of the cave to catch the water flowing out of the cave. Then she placed the small wine cup given by the Queen Mother in front of the cow to catch the rice flowing from the cow's horns, and asked the cow to kick the wine cup full of rice out of the cave. The land was moist, the mountains and rivers were beautiful, and the birds were singing in harmony; the people reclaimed the wasteland, brought the clear springs in the caves to irrigate the farmland, and sprinkled the rice sent by the golden cows in the caves. The earth revived, and the people also smiled and lived their lives again. A happy and peaceful life. The fairy left, but left a happy and beautiful life to the people.
In this way, Yuhuan has the story of the golden bull and the stone spoon. Many people in their 20s have seen the fairy cave and the stone spoon, and many people have heard stories about the fairy cave about a beautiful and kind fairy from the elderly.
