What is root-opening in the Bazi? Under what circumstances is it called uprooting?

What is Tonggen?

Tonggen is the same as Tonggan. If a certain character in the heavenly stem appears in the eight-character earthly branch and Tibetan stem, it is called Tonggen. Tonggen can be understood as strengthening the power of the five elements, and the power of the Qi root is the greatest.

For example

There are several types of Tonggen. Let’s take Jiamu as an example. For example, if Jiamu appears on the heavenly stem, and Yin appears on the earthly branch, since the earthly branch Yinzhong, the original energy is Jia, then This is called "original Qi opening up the roots". For another example, the heavenly stem appears as Jiamu, and the earthly branch appears as Hai. Since in Hai, the middle Qi is Jia, then this is called "mixed Qi flowing through the roots". If in the horoscope, the heavenly stem is Jiamu, and neither Jia nor Hai appears in the earthly branches, then it can be understood that "Jiamu is empty and has no roots."

Tonggen also needs to remember the following knowledge points
