Dragon dance originated from the worship of the dragon by the ancients. During every festive festival, people will dance the dragon. The dragon dance starts from the Spring Festival, and then also during the "dragon raises its head" in February and the Dragon Boat Festival. Use dragon dance to pray for peace and a good harvest. Dragon dance is a folk culture of the Han people all over the country.
Dragon dance refers to dragon dancers, under the guidance of dragon beads, holding dragon tools and accompaniment with drum music, completing dragon games through changes in human body movements and postures, such as crossing, soaring, leaping, and turning. It is a traditional sports event that fully demonstrates the essence, energy, spirit, charm and other contents of the dragon through its movements and routines such as rolling, playing, wrapping, and composing pictures.
Dragon lanterns are mostly danced on festival nights, and in some areas fireworks and firecrackers are also set off at the same time. Accompanied by drums, gongs, cymbals, suonas and other musical instruments, the dragon lanterns appear more majestic and the dances more vivid. Bulong is also called Dalong. It is slightly different from the dragon lantern. No candles are burned during the festival, and it is usually more than 10 sections long.
North and South respectively
The Northern Lion Dance mainly performs "Martial Lion", which is the "Auspicious Lion" of the Northern Wei Dynasty designated by Emperor Wu of Wei. The small lion is danced by one person, and the big lion is danced by two people. One person stands and dances the lion's head, and the other bends down and dances the lion's body and tail. The lion dancer wears a lion quilt all over his body, and wears green lion pants and gold-clawed boots with the same coat color as the lion's body. People cannot identify the shape of the lion dancer. Its appearance is very similar to a real lion.
Although the Southern Lion is also a duet dance, the lion dancer wears bloomers and only a colorful lion quilt on top. Different from the Northern Lion, the "Lion Man" wears a big-headed Buddha mask, a long robe, and a colorful belt around his waist. He holds a sunflower fan in his hand to tease the lion, and uses it to dance various graceful moves with funny and humorous movements.
