Buddhism Zen (2) Six Wonderful Gates
Six wonderful doors, made by the Tiantai wise master, are six meditation methods to enter nirvana, namely: 1. Counting breath: Counting breath (counting from one to ten) is an important method for people, so it is the first strange door.
2. Follow the fun door: countless differences with fun, so naturally it is easy to cause meditation, so it is the second best door.
3. Stop the door: When the mind stops, Zen will be spontaneous, so it is the third wonderful door.
4. Close the door: Guan Wuyun is an illusory existence, which can break all kinds of upside-down misconceptions and develop convenient wisdom without leaking, so it is the fourth wonderful door.
5. Return to the door: If you accept your heart and return home, knowing that what you see is not true, then I will die, and there is no leakage to facilitate wisdom and natural understanding, so it is the fifth wonderful door.
6. clean door: if the heart is not alive, it will be clean, then it will be really clear, and naturally it will confuse the truth, so it is the sixth wonderful door.
Among them, the most important thing is to follow the interest, which is a process from dynamic to static; The other is the observation of interest, which is the key from static to dynamic, from fixed to wise. In the observation of breath, observing the in and out of breath is like the cycle of life and the alternation of life and death. This corresponds to the impermanence of Buddhism, from which we can realize the truth of the three dharma seals and the four noble truths, so as to get rid of self-nature and achieve a higher level of purity.
(3) Five-station concept
The concept of "five stops" is the basis of meditation. When meditation has not yet entered a fixed state, the concept of "five stops" can be added to cure greed: 1. Treating greed with impure view: impure view refers to the view of observing the filth and filth of his body to treat greed.
2. Treat resentment with the concept of compassion: The concept of compassion is a way to treat resentment by making people more angry about the real happiness they get from suffering.
3. Treat stupidity with the concept of karma: stupid people are persistent because they don't understand that everything in the world is caused by karma; Knowing the law of cause and effect, we can know all the mysteries of harmonious cause and effect, and we can turn ignorance into wisdom.
4. Treat the disorder with the concept of calculating interest: our minds are full of delusions. Through the concept of counting interest, that is, counting our income and promise, connecting our hearts together, breathing in and out, can not only make our breathing slow and even, but also make our hearts no longer scattered, and then achieve peace.
5. Treat karma with the concept of chanting Buddha: The concept of chanting Buddha is the concept of love, light, lofty merit and inaction, so as to treat karma.
Four kinds of thinking.
If you want to practice meditation and achieve mental stillness, you should further practice the concept of meditation stillness: 1. Mindfulness and contemplation: at the same time, we should observe the differences, sufferings, emptiness and selflessness of the body, so as to reverse the pure governance.
2. Mindfulness: observe the causes of distress caused by happy joy, observe bitterness and emptiness, and thus reverse the handling of music.
3. Keep the mind on it: observe the birth and death of the mind, and observe its * * * phase to cure it.
4. View the law: All laws are born according to karma, and there is no self-nature. Look at its * * * phase to reverse me.
The above four kinds of thinking about life are based on the four views of impurity, bitterness, impermanence and selflessness, which reverse the four aspects of purity, happiness, constancy and self.
(5) Nine lives.
After practicing for a period of time, you can check your practice progress through nine thoughts.
1. Indwelling: In meditation, at first, the mind is in a state of mind, which makes the mind dwell in it, but it is nothing more than dispersion.
2. Continue to live: The initially bound heart is so rough that I wish it could live all over. Therefore, when the heart acts on external things, it is in the boundary, convenient, clear and convenient, so that the heart is fully alive.
3. Settle down: Although the heart is ordered to live in and continue to live, it will still be lost and scattered, so be careful when it is scattered outside and immediately notice that the heart is still living on the edge.
4. Never give up: At this time, the mind can't stand delusion, and the mind won't lose to the outside world.
Because delusion will rise, you can know it in advance, subdue it first, and don't let it live far away. This is called living close.
5. Harmony: I know the merits and demerits of meditation are extraordinary. I know that ten aspects, such as color, sound, fragrance, taste, greed, anger, infatuation, male and female, are troubles that distract my heart. So, I can calm my heart and not let it flow away.
6. Silence: with inner stability and merit, stop the evil thoughts and troubles that can disturb the heart, and make the heart calm down and stop flowing.
7. Extreme silence: Due to the loss of thoughts, all kinds of improper thoughts and temporary existence with troubles mentioned above will appear as soon as they appear, and will be eliminated as soon as they can't stand it.
8. Focus on one interest: there are lines, functions, and seamless, and it is certain that you can continue.
9. Waiting: equal to holding the heart. Because of the karma of practicing divination, I am skilled in kung fu, and I don't need to add lines or functions. Only when the heart is stable can the luck continue.
At this point, it is already in the stage of concentration.
(6) Four bills of materials
Lin Ji's four bamboo slips are four rules that can be used to teach scholars: 1. Seize the heart without seizing the territory: forget yourself, but don't forget the external environment.
2. Seize the territory without seizing others: annihilate the external territory, but never forget to lose yourself.
People and environment have been taken away: people and environment have been forgotten.
4. The human environment is not lost: the human environment is not lost, and the Tao does not die.
No matter whether you are nine-minded or four-minded, meditators can test themselves according to this and check which stage they have reached.
(7) Breaking the three barriers
Meditators will have different realms in the process of learning, so in the past, Zen had the so-called breaking three levels: 1. The first level: be extraordinary.
2. Reentry: Be able to return to the world. That is to say, pure land Sect said, returning from the wish will spread all beings.
3. Prison: All Saints Lost. It means nothing, nothing, nothing, everything is equal.
(8) Four Zen and Eight Decisions
Four Zen is the four meditation realms of the color world; Bading refers to the four Zen realms in the color world and the four colorless realms in the achromatic world, which are collectively called Bading, so Bading actually includes four Zen.
The combination of four and eight is because the color world is opposite to the achromatic world, the color world is Zen, and the achromatic world is fixed; If the color world and the achromatic world are dispersed relative to the desire world, and both of them are called definite, then the fourth meditation and achromatic world of the color world are called eight definite.
The four Zen Buddhism are:
1. The first Yi Chan: Empty your heart and keep everything intact, that is, eliminate all kinds of troubles and desires and reach the realm of carefree desires. This is the first Yi Chan.
2. Second Zen: The belief in the method of seeking worship from the dust and turbidity of early Zen is clear, that is, there is no seeking worship, no feeling and no view, and naturally a kind of joy is obtained. This is the second Zen.
3. Three Zen: From the joy of the second Zen, there is only one kind of quiet and wonderful joy, so it is also called the land of joy and happiness.
4. Four Zen: Even the quiet and wonderful joy is gone, and only the conscious activities corresponding to giving up and getting it will lead to the fourth Zen.
The following four colorless:
1. Setting in the Infinite: Transcending the fourth Zen of the color world, eliminating all kinds of color thoughts corresponding to the eyes, color thoughts corresponding to the four senses of ears, nose, tongue and body, and all evil thoughts, even eliminating all thoughts fixed by obstacles and the fixed phase of thinking in the Infinite.
2. Infinite knowledge: the intimate knowledge is all over the void, and the void is boundless, so the heart is scattered, so the void is abandoned, and the heart is turned to know, corresponding to knowledge, and the heart is fixed. The knowledge of the present, the past and the future is fixed, corresponding to the determination, and the heart will not leave.
This calm and quiet, pure and quiet, is called knowing it.
3. Nowhere to decide: giving up knowledge, focusing on nowhere, being diligent, single-minded, happy and quiet, and forgetting everything is called nowhere to decide.
4. If you don't want to think, you must decide: think about what you know before, and think about what you don't have. Give up the previous thinking, the name is not thinking, give up the previous thinking, the name is not thinking. In other words, there are three definitions: absence, silence, purity and inaction. If it doesn't appear, it is called thinking.
Four Zen and Eight Zen are the meditation of the world and the foundation of meditation. When the Buddha reached enlightenment and nirvana, he once relied on these meditation techniques as an aid, so its importance cannot be ignored.
(9) Stop observing and double your training.
Stop, stop, stop, stop all thoughts and live without thoughts; Get rid of all delusions and be wise. View means visualization and insight, that is, after stopping the scattered delusion, further observe the law, so as to make real wisdom and understand the realistic ontology of the law.
Stop all kinds of delusions, which are static and negative, that is, meditation; Observing boundaries and light is a dynamic and positive way to study hard again, and it is also a door to wisdom. These two things, like the two wheels of a car and the wings of a bird, are the key doors for Taoist practitioners to practice meditation and wisdom.
(10) The concept of karma
The concept of karma is a view of treating stupidity and enlightening wisdom. Meditation is not greed for quiet happiness, but meditation in silence to produce wisdom. Looking at the twelve causes, one thought has twelve causes, just like the present cause, it is also due to the last cause. The former is closely related to the latter. Everything in life has a cause and effect, and one person is connected with others. One thing is linked with other things and has its cause and destiny. Cause and effect become other reasons, and so on. If we look at these causes clearly, we can understand the reality of the world, so observing them can produce wisdom.
