It is shocking that Liu Shaoyi competed to speak in such a tone in front of his predecessors at an early age.

if you don't put it aside, it will always be bitter;

if you hold on to it, you will become famous.

horizontal criticism: ignoring life

-this couplet has written the philosophy of life. If the word "if" is not left out, it is the word "bitter"; The word "Ge" is a "name" only if it is acceptable; A flick is the word "person". "skimming" and "holding" are dialectical relations of unity of opposites, which should be both open and closed; We should learn to give up and stick to it, so as to be a real person. If you only "skim" and don't "hold back", there will be no principle and discretion in being a person; Only "controlling" and not "skimming" will make people too fussy and cautious. "Skimming" and "holding" complement each other, support each other and complement each other, otherwise it will not be a complete "person". In the couplets, people are advised to "leave" the desires, temptations, greed and so on in life, and they are advised to "stay indifferent, lonely, persistent and so on. —— Tsinghua University's entrance examination in 1932 was put forward by Professor Chen Yinque, and there was once a three-character couplet: "Sun Walker". It is said that only one candidate got the best answer. The antithesis is "Hu Shizhi".

Monkey Sun and Hu Shizhi are all names; One ancient and one present, one martial arts and one article, one virtual and one real, one god and one fan are all celebrities; These two celebrities, so to speak, are both Buddhist monks. This is right. Hu and Sun are both aliases and nouns of monkeys. Both "walk" and "fit" have the meaning of walking, and they are verbs. Zhe and Zhi are all function words in classical Chinese. This is the right text. Speaking of phonology: flat and flat, flat and flat, is a metrical pair. This pair of three-character couplets is really concise, interesting, neat and natural.

-This is a famous couplet hanging in the Yiyong Hall of Donglin College. This couplet was written by Gu Xiancheng, the leader of Donglin Party in Ming Dynasty. The wind is against the rain, the home is against the country, and the ear is against the heart. It is extremely neat, especially when used in conjunction with words, such as the sound of books.

This couplet is to encourage scholars to take it as their duty to help the world through the country, and it still has enlightening and educational significance. That is to say, they should not only read good books, but also care about the country, politics and world affairs, and try their best to understand the world and apply what they have learned, instead of studying hard.
