I don’t dare to say that I am a professional. I have learned some. If you are not satisfied, you don’t need to adopt it. It is for reference only.

There is a pest of rice called rice gall midge, which exists at this stage. Like common mosquitoes, they all belong to the order Diptera. I didn’t see it, so I’m not sure if it’s this pest or a mosquito, but other insects don’t seem to have this phenomenon.

This phenomenon has a scientific name called mosquito column. Usually appears at dusk. Mosquitoes form mosquito pillars to dance in groups. Mosquito pillars are not necessarily composed of just one type of male mosquito, but are often composed of several different mosquito species. At this time, when the female mosquitoes see the dancing group, they fly close to the mosquito column to mate with the same species of male mosquitoes and then leave. This may also be related to the phototaxis and thermotaxis of mosquitoes.
