On July 10, 2009, 43 volunteers from all walks of life set out with more than a dozen boxes of books, dictionaries, stationery and gifts, which was the largest summer education research activity in the history of the 9th World Public Welfare Club. In nearly half a month, the research team was divided into seven groups and visited Yuzhai Primary School in Kaili City, Li Yong Township in congjiang county (13 villages 1 primary school, 13 villages 1 middle school), Gangbian Township (4 primary schools in 5 villages) and Gaozeng Township (8 schools in 8 villages). In addition, our senior volunteer, Mr. Shi, led a team alone and organized more than 50 volunteers from the Association of Agriculture, Countryside and Farmers of Zhejiang University to carry out teaching and research activities in congjiang county.
In terms of research, the seven research groups spent most of their time walking in the mountains, suffering from the sun and rain. Instead of sightseeing, they visited every village in their hometown. They should not only pay a return visit and feedback to the projects donated by the Ninth World Charity Club before, but also visit the schools that have not been funded, investigate the local economic and educational situation, understand their difficulties, and provide data for the feasibility analysis of the "second classroom" project to be launched by the Ninth World Charity Club through questionnaire survey. Apart from personal research experience, most of the volunteers who participated in this activity went to Guizhou for the first time and did research for the first time. For them, they face not only physical challenges, but also ability challenges! However, in the face of various difficulties, each team member gave full play to the team spirit and cooperated with each other to successfully complete the research task.
In teaching, the summer camp brought knowledge and joy to the children in Gaowu Primary School. There are many excellent teachers and versatile college students with many years of teaching experience in the teaching team. From music and art to life knowledge and survival skills, everyone has made careful preparations for each class, trying to impart more knowledge to children and share the world outside the mountains with them. On the last day of the summer camp, volunteers and the whole school students organized a wonderful cultural performance, which brought the summer camp to a successful conclusion.
