Beijing is called Beiping, which originated from the period of Zhu Yuanzhang in the Ming Dynasty.
At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the peasant uprising against the Mongolian rulers, such as storms, swept across the country. After Zhu Yuanzhang merged the forces of the insurgents Chen Youliang and Zhang Shicheng, he occupied half of the south of the Yangtze River, and in the twenty-seventh year of the Yuan Dynasty (1367), he sent generals Xu Da and Chang Yuchun to command the northern expedition.
in p>1368, Zhu Yuanzhang took Yingtianfu (now Nanjing) as the capital, with the founding name Daming and the year Hongwu. Although Yuan Shundi fled to Mobei, many of his troops were still stranded around Dadu, always threatening Dadu, and Yuan generals quickly arrived in Tongzhou. Zhu Yuanzhang immediately ordered Chang Yuchun, the general, to lead a heavy army to wipe out the Yuan Army around Dadu.
in June p>1369, Chang Yuchun wiped out the remnants of Yuan troops near Dadu. When the battle report was delivered to the court, Zhu Yuanzhang changed the Yuan Dynasty to "Beiping House" in the name of "Jibei Xiping". This is the origin of Beijing, also known as Beiping.
