The Cole duck, also known as the little duck, is a descendant of the mallard and the smallest domestic duck species.
Because it does not grow very big and is small in size, it looks very cute and is often kept as a pet. Like other household pets, Cole ducks require vaccinations, specific food, and bathing. It has a docile personality, does not make any noise or bites, and can live up to more than ten years. It will also lay eggs and hatch them on its own when it reaches adulthood, making it a very good companion pet.
Although its origin is the Netherlands, local breeding has been achieved in China. In Europe in the 17th century, there were two main uses for the Callduck: One was that hunters used the unique high pitch of the Callduck to attract other wild ducks into the shooting range of the shotgun, which is also the origin of its name "Callduck". Another is when hunters set traps and put a few Cole ducks inside to attract wild ducks into the trap.
Adult period
By the mid-20th century, with the efforts of breeders from various countries, the appearance of Cole ducks became more and more beautiful. The current Cole duck has evolved from the earliest two colors of white and gray to at least nine colors, becoming a very mature pet duck. Cole ducks have white fur both when they are young and adults, but common ducks are yellow when they are young.
And as time goes by, when you grow up, it is basically gray. When a Cole duck is born, there is no difference in size from an ordinary duck. However, during the growth and development process, the size of the Cole duck does not change much. And he is relatively short, and he is of the type that does not grow very big. Ordinary ducks are relatively small when they are born, but will grow to be very large when they reach adulthood.
