County has been the basic unit of administrative divisions in China for more than 2,500 years. Among the more than 2,800 county-level administrative regions in my country, some of them are quite unusual. In addition to the administrative regions "county" and "city", their place names have only one character, so they are called "single-character counties." For example, the world-famous Shaxian County and Xionxian County are part of Xiongan New Area.
