Can the company name be repeated?

The name can be repeated, but there are other conditions.

Legal basis:

1. "Provisions on the Registration and Management of Enterprise Names"

(1) Article 3 stipulates that when the enterprise applies for registration, the enterprise name shall be determined by the enterprise. The name shall be approved by the competent registration authority. The enterprise name can only be used after approval and registration, and it enjoys exclusive rights within the prescribed scope.

(2) Article 6 stipulates that an enterprise is only allowed to use one name, which shall not be the same as or similar to the name of a registered enterprise in the same industry within the jurisdiction of the registration authority.

2. "Implementation Measures for Enterprise Name Registration Management" (2004)

(1) Article 31 stipulates that if an enterprise name has any of the following circumstances, it will not be approved:

① The same name and trade name as an enterprise in the same industry approved or registered by the same industrial and commercial administrative authority, except for those with investment relationships.

② The same name and trade name as an enterprise approved or registered by the same industrial and commercial administration authority in compliance with Article 18 of these Measures, except for those with investment relationships.

③ It is the same as the original name of other companies whose names have been changed less than 1 year ago.

④ It is the same as the name of an enterprise that has been deregistered or has had its business license revoked for less than 3 years.

⑤Other violations of laws and administrative regulations.

Note: If the name of the enterprise applying for registration is the same or similar to the name of the enterprise in the following circumstances, the registration authority will not approve it:

(1) The enterprise has been canceled less than three years ago of.

(2) The business license of the enterprise has been revoked for less than three years.

(3) The enterprise has been deregistered for less than one year due to reasons other than those listed in items (1) and (2) of this article.

Is it okay to have repeated company names? The answer is yes. Duplication of a company's registered name and font size does not necessarily mean that it cannot be used. It depends on the jurisdiction, whether it is a well-known trademark, and whether it has special protection. Peers cannot use the same name, but different industries can use the same name.
