The origin of Dingzhou village name

How did the name of Dingzhou Village come from, what does it mean, and how long has this village been named? For a long time, there have been different opinions. Let's explore the veins formed by our ancestors' footprints in detail!

Dingzhou village, formerly known as Dingzhou village. There are many physical objects to prove it. In the 11th year of Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1498), Shengguang Temple was rebuilt and bells were cast in Wangcheng Village (now Wangshi Village). Several pilgrims participated in this village, and the clock recorded that this village was "Dingzhou Village". This village was recorded as Dingzhou Village in the Kangxi period ((Huxian annals)) and Yongzheng period ((Huxian annals)) of the Qing Dynasty. The map of Huxian County published in the last years of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty is also called Dingzhou Village. In the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934) (Huxian annals), this village was recorded as Dingzhou village. This village name has been used ever since. The name of the village has changed. What is the reason? The author collected some information and shared it with you here.

Dingzhou village did not suddenly become Dingzhou village. In the meantime (about 1900- 19 15), there was a period of "boat" and "week" interchange. I found this phenomenon from some historical documents copied by villagers. In the thirty-first year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1906), Duan wrote the Tomb Table of Liu Luoru, Assistant Minister of Qinghui, who was endowed with virtue by Shan Zhanggong. Its ancestor Daosheng, from Fengyang to Fan, left to protect the army, and went to Dingzhou Village, Tuntian County. In the 13th year of the Republic of China (1924), Zhang Xie ((Henan appointed Jane as the epitaph of Zhaojun's tomb)), who was the imperial adviser of Liangdang, Huixian and Guimao in Gansu Province, said: "You are afraid to follow the sound, and if you say it, …. Jin Yangju, Yan Song, who lives in Zhoucun, was named Beibo. At the same time, Zhao Jisheng (1871-kloc-0/924), a villager in this village, used the terms "Dingzhou Village" and "Dingzhou Village" in his two documents. According to the original Qian Biao of official doctors Zhao Fujun and Yan Yiren in Qing Dynasty, "In the eleventh year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1379), the ancestors were Qin Zuohu, who was in charge of the residents, so he was a member of Dingzhou Village. "In the epitaphs of Lin Wen, Zhang Langjun, Mao Zhai and De Dong Ruren in Qing Dynasty, it was found that Xuanyuan people and Xi Yaya ... all belonged to Fan Qin, so they were appointed as Zhoucun people. Thus, at least in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, "Zhou" and "Zhou" were used mutually; Mainly a few weeks. Since the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934), this village has been named Dingzhou Village in Huxian Records. It is our responsibility to look for clues from the vast amount of materials and study them by comparative methods.

How did Dingzhou Village gradually evolve into Dingzhou Village? The author takes the liberty of trying to speculate that Dingzhou village is located on the south bank of the old Weihe River. In the past long years, residents had to go to the north of Weihe River to exchange grain, agricultural and sideline products, etc. However, the Weihe River is not a docile river. If you want to cross it, you must take a boat. Dingzhou village is similar to a ferry, where ships take things to unload. After a long time, outsiders don't know, so it's called Dingzhou Village Dingzhou Village. The villagers also claimed to be. According to the old people in the village, there is a white saline-alkali pool in the north of the village, and it came to the village when the river flooded the beach. In the twenty-third year of the Republic of China, Huxian Annals simply designated our village as Dingzhou Village. From then on, the word "Zhou" is no longer reused. Zhuori Village in Dawang Town was also called "Qieya Village" in the early 1950s, but it has changed because of pronunciation. In the long historical era, it is not surprising that our village has changed from "Dingzhou Village" to "Dingzhou Village".

In Nanxu Town, Xingping City, there is a village called Dingzhou Village, which is the same as the original name of our village. It is about twenty kilometers away from my village in a straight line. Or in order to distinguish the two, it is more reasonable to call my village near Weihe River "Dingzhou Village".

About the source of Dingzhou village name, to sum up, there are roughly two kinds:

The first one: according to the literal meaning of the current name of Dingzhou Village. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, after the war, the ancestors of ten military households in Dingzhou Village were ordered to settle down and lead their families upstream along the Weihe River to find a place to live. When they arrived here, they saw thousands of hectares of reeds, wild ducks and cormorants. The land was vast and sparsely populated, and the land was fertile and beautiful. So they decided to get off the boat, help the old and take care of the young, and settle here at the same speed. Then this place is called Dingzhou Village. This statement was denied by the data we found later. The reason is that before the end of the Qing Dynasty, our village was always called Dingzhou Village, not Dingzhou Village. This purely literal explanation is far-fetched, and our ancestors came as "members of the army, they are like civilian families" from the beginning. Its nature is equivalent to today's Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and it is a collective resettlement. The time and place of reclamation were uniformly arranged by the relevant institutions of the Ming Dynasty and could not be solved by themselves. Obviously, this statement is untenable.

The second way of saying it is: "Dingzhou Village" is the birthplace of Zhou Wenwang. People who hold this view believe that Zhou Wenwang once practiced benevolent policies here, which laid the foundation for the Zhou Dynasty for 800 years. Therefore, it was named Dingzhou Village. But looking at the villages in our county, most of them were in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, and Yuyao Village in Laodian Town was named after the Ming Dynasty. Dawang Town was named after the Yuan Dynasty; Chishui Village, Dawang Town, was named after the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Those with distant names can be pushed to Han. Longtaifang was named because it was located near the former site of Longtaiguan Temple in Han Dynasty. Loucun, Ganting Town, commemorates Lou Jing, a politician who proposed to Liu Bang in the Han Dynasty to make peace with the Huns and made his capital in Chang 'an. Cheng Huang's Ji Xin, according to legend, is a native of Jijiazhuang in Meiwuling, Huxian County, but now it is hard to find a trace. In China, the historical years with exact words can be tested are Zhou * * * and the first year (84 BC1), and the cutting of Zhou in Zhou Wuwang is BC 1 1 century. Jijiazhuang in Han Dynasty is difficult to research, but Zhou Wenwang named the birthplace of the world after a village. Is it confusing? Is Dingzhou Village in Xingping also the birthplace of Zhou Dynasty?

What does the original name of Dingzhou Village mean, what thoughts it contains and what hope it has? The author tried several times but failed to get to the point. In recent days, while studying the ancient art of war ((Tamia Liu)), I came across the relationship between (D) and (Zhou) discussed by the ancients. The causal relationship between the two is clarified. In the fourth chapter of this book & gt, there is such a dialogue: "King Wen asked Taigong:" How was the ceremony of the death of the monarch and his subjects? Tai Gong said, "To the top, it's only temporary, but to the bottom, it's just heavy. There is no distance in the face, and there is no concealment in the sinking. For one week, for the next week, a week is also a day. On a regular basis Whether it is heaven or earth, the gift is successful. "

This passage is translated into modern words: "Zhou Wenwang asked Jiang Taigong: What are the contents of the etiquette between the monarch and the minister? Jiang Taigong replied: For a monarch, the most important thing is to observe the situation. Be humble and docile to courtiers, observe the situation, and never alienate your subjects. If you are humble and docile, you can't hide. For the monarch, you should be kind and steady. The monarch's kindness is to hope that the sun shines on everything, and the people should carry things calmly like the earth. Take the sky as an example, and the people take the land as an example, and the ceremony between the monarch and the minister is formed. " In other words, "Zhou" means that the king should assess the situation, Pushende, and "Ding" means that the people should be humble and docile and do things in a down-to-earth manner. There is a causal relationship between Ding and Zhou. This is the gift of the so-called feudal rulers. As long as the people live according to the method pointed out by the gift, they will live a happy and healthy life and the society will develop steadily. The word "fixed week" contains such rich social and political content.

Let's take a look at the historical background of Tamia Liu's book; According to legend, this book was written by Wang Jiang of Zhou Dynasty. The exact description begins with the Annals of Sui Shu Classics, which contains four theories: Confucianism, Taoism, Dharma and Yin and Yang. In the book, the role of cavalry is discussed in two articles: Wu Knight and Zhan Riding. A large number of cavalry appeared in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Therefore, the academic circles generally believe that Liu Tao is the late product of the strategist in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. This book gives a detailed and in-depth discussion of politics and military affairs. It was highly praised by the descendants of Mushatokoro. During the Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasties, Liu Tao was listed as one of the seven classic books of martial arts, and was awarded a must-read book for martial arts. Have a great influence on future generations.

Benevolent people have different opinions, and wise people have different opinions. Hundreds of years have passed in a blink of an eye, and many changes have taken place in the world, some of which are bright and some are dark, which is difficult to distinguish, leaving us with deep thoughts. My humble opinion is inevitably biased, so I dare to share it with you. I just hope it can play a role in attracting jade, and the Fang family will definitely give me some suggestions. Seriously, it is clearer in the discussion and gives future generations more choices.

Dingzhou Village's ancestors were military attaché s who used to be "official households" during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, and naturally they were quite familiar with Liu Tao, a military book with great influence at that time. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, there was chaos in the world, ten rooms were empty, people's livelihood was poor, and everything was waiting for prosperity. They came here to settle down in the fields, naturally hoping that the kindness of the monarch would cover everything like the sky, and that the world would be stable and the people would be able to recuperate and live a happy life. They named their village after Dingzhou and placed their best wishes on it. Through this auspicious and safe village name, they realized their infinite hope.
