Is Sinai a real peninsula? The definition of a peninsula is that it is bordered by water on three sides and connected to land on one side; but Sinai is connected to the mainland on both east and west sides.

Sinai is a peninsula, a veritable peninsula.

The Sinai Peninsula is a triangular peninsula connecting Africa and Asia. It is bounded by the Gulf of Suez and the Suez Canal to the west, the Gulf of Aqaba and the Negev Desert to the east, the Mediterranean Sea to the north, and the Red Sea to the south.

To the east of the Sinai Peninsula is the Gulf of Aqaba of the Red Sea, to the west is the Gulf of Suez of the Red Sea, and at the top of the south is the Red Sea. Isn’t this the topography of a peninsula with three sides facing the sea and one side connected to land?
