Xiangling can learn poetry in three steps. First of all, I worshipped Daiyu as my teacher and savored Wang Wei's poems under the guidance of Daiyu. Secondly, while reading Du Fu's poems, he tried to write poems. The third is that it has experienced two failures and finally succeeded. Xiang Ling's first poem is naive and straightforward, piling up the words used by predecessors to chant the moon and putting them together into a piece. The biggest problem is that the whole poem does not express true feelings, so it is nothing new. The words "laurel", "jade mirror" and "ice plate" used in the poem are trite, so Daiyu said that she was "bound by him", that is, she could not jump out of the condom of her predecessors. Her second poem has made progress, and she can use metaphors such as "floral fragrance" and "light frost", and set off by scenes such as "people walking" and "curtains", and gradually let go of her hands and feet. However, the words such as "Jade Plate" and "Jade Bar" still have an old flavor, and the whole poem is about the moonlight instead of the moon itself, which is somewhat off topic, so Daiyu said that "this one is too boring". Xiangling's third poem goes like this:
It's hard to hide the essence, and the shadow is cold from Juan Juan.
an anvil knocks a thousand miles, and half a chicken sings five more.
The flute is heard on the Lvkun River in autumn, and the tea house leans on the railing all night.
If you win the honor of Chang 'e, why not reunite forever?
this poem is a success. Except for the first couplet, every sentence seems to be not written in the month, but every sentence is related to the month. The dictionary is elegant and subtle, and the meaning is novel and unique. In particular, the couplet is exquisite because of its steady work and profound meaning. Its greatest advantage is that it conforms to Xiangling's own life experience, cherishes people by chanting the moon, and reveals true feelings. In this way, poetry is not empty but has content. Xiangling's success, on the one hand, shows her own intelligence and elegant quality, on the other hand, it also shows a truth, that is, after writing the novel for forty-nine times, everyone read what her third poem said, "Nothing is difficult for a willing mind." In this way, it is more justified for Xiangling to live in the Grand View Garden, and it is logical for her to be the first person in the supplement.
There are many poems in A Dream of Red Mansions, which is one of the reading difficulties for readers today. It is a pity that many people read it carelessly and think that the author has no intention. Poetry in the book is often integrated with the story, and everyone's poems have their own characteristics, showing different characters' different ideological personalities. Some poems also point out the situation and fate of the characters. As mentioned above, in the third poem of Xiangling, "It is difficult to hide the essence" is actually talking about Xiangling's current situation. Therefore, savoring the poems in the book carefully is also one of the pleasures of appreciating A Dream of Red Mansions.
Cao Xueqin learned poetry by writing Xiangling, and also expressed his views on poetic art. He particularly emphasized that poetry should be innovative, emotional and entertaining, and not harmful with words. This is a kind of understanding. From the text, readers can also know that the author appreciates the poems of the Tang Dynasty, such as Wang Wei, Du Fu and Li Bai, all of whom are excellent poets favored by Cao Xueqin.
Xiangling wanted to learn poetry, and instead of worshipping Baochai around her as a teacher, she went to Daiyu, which is also a reasonable stroke in the novel. Baochai is well-read and well-written in poetry, but she doesn't value this and thinks that "a woman without talent is virtue." Moreover, Baochai is calm by nature and doesn't like trivial things that are too troublesome, so it is inconvenient for Xiangling to learn poetry from her. Although Daiyu was withdrawn by nature, she was fond of parting but not gathering, but she also had a warm and generous side. She took pains to guide Xiangling, and she was persuasive and concise, so Xiangling could quickly understand the entry path and succeed. This performance of Daiyu is a reflection of another aspect of her personality. In a way, Daiyu is actually easier to get along with and more sympathetic to the weak than Baochai.
Other characters written in the text, such as Tan Chun, Xiang Yun, Baoyu, etc., are all foil characters with little ink. However, the author's light dyeing is quite spiritual. If you write about Xiangyun, you are talkative and alert in spring, which is consistent with their consistent performance.
