Kangding, formerly known as Dajianlu, is located at the foothills of Paoma Mountain at the northern end of Gongga Mountain in western Sichuan. It is the capital of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and an ancient plateau city with a long history.
Kangding County has a dry valley subtropical climate. In the eighth year of Yongzheng (1730), the Qing Dynasty built three city walls in Kangding near the mountain, and built three southeastern towers at the three entrances and exits, named Ziqi Gate, Nanji Gate and Gongchen respectively. Door. In the 11th year of the Republic of China, when Chen Xialing, the Sichuan garrison envoy, repaired the Dongguan City Gate, he changed the Ziqi Gate to Kangding Gate.
