After doing yoga for nine years, seven abilities that an excellent yoga teacher should possess are summarized.

I started practicing yoga in 212, and I have been a yoga teacher for nearly ten years now. In the first four or five years, I have practiced in the yoga studio, and I have practiced in large classes. There are about a dozen teachers who have taught me, some of whom I can't remember their names and looks. In the next four or five years, I entered this industry myself, and I knew countless teachers.

In 212, there were two full-time teachers in the first venue where I took classes. I liked one of them very much and only reserved her classes. I thought everyone was like me. Later, I found that there were so many people signing up for another teacher's class that I didn't like. It seems that I was wrong, not that her class was not good, but maybe it was just not suitable for me at that time, or it was different from me.

So from the very beginning, I thought that every yoga teacher need not be obsessed with being liked by all members, but can be loved by most people. To be an excellent teacher for a long time, I think this problem should start from two aspects, that is, professional ability and self-accomplishment.

1. Professional ability

1. Love and keep practicing yourself

How long has it been since you became a yoga teacher? After entering this industry, I found that many yoga teachers sit in the yoga studio and don't practice for a day, but only practice when taking pictures.

I know an elderly teacher, Iyengar, who runs her own library. She gets up at four or five o'clock every day to practice for three hours. She tells me that she can't do it without practicing. She doesn't even feel how to teach members constantly. Her students are all practitioners all the year round.

2. Accumulation of professional knowledge

When the epidemic was serious, offline training and teaching stopped, and many teachers who wanted to study were disrupted, so some people were anxious. In fact, there are many ways to learn now. Online, books and self-training can all bring us professional knowledge accumulation. Studying under the existing conditions without waiting for time may bring you more suitable inspiration for long-term planning.

3. Improvement of teaching level

This includes many aspects: improvement of knowledge structure, auxiliary techniques, scientificity, safety and effectiveness of course arrangement, and private education should formulate courses according to members' physical conditions, such as what diseases he/she has, whether he/she has had surgery and so on. For example, some of my members have some symptoms of chronic diseases, and I will join the twisting pose suitable for them, join the female prosthetic exercises with gynecological symptoms, and how to improve their physical fitness if they are weak.

4. Stay focused and be good at observing

During the class, pay attention to observe the members' physical condition, whether they are uncomfortable or not, remind everyone to practice within their own physical tolerance, cooperate with the guidance of breathing, and ask the female members whether they are in the physiological period before class, all of which reflect the professionalism and concentration of a teacher, and members can feel it.

Second, self-accomplishment

1. Keep a pious mind to practice

patanjali put forward three conditions for practice: long-term, continuity and piety. Practicing yoga requires physical and mental devotion and inner piety. In the simplest example, many teachers leave after class or self-practice, and the whole classroom is messy and the yoga mat is dirty.

If the teacher is like this, it is really worth thinking whether the members will practice sincerely or hold their heads high. Teachers' inner self-cultivation plays an important role in themselves and others.

2. Self-image

Members may not talk about it at ordinary times, but they are all curious, such as observing the teachers' figure, wanting to know the teachers' diet, exercise habits, etc. As long as teachers persist and explore their own development style, they will certainly be able to establish a positive image and influence their members.

3. Communication and encouragement

Don't be stingy with daily greetings and communication, encourage everyone to persist, guide everyone to find their awareness upgrade from quantitative change to qualitative change, and make effective suggestions if you teach privately.

Do not forget your initiative mind, so as to achieve your final goal. The book of yoga says that wherever there is yoga, there is prosperity, freedom and joy. I often use this sentence to give thanks after class. I'm glad to meet some shining teachers, which makes me feel honored on this road.
