Xuanyuan Huangdi is the Yellow Emperor. It is said that the Yellow Emperor's surname was Gongsun, and he later changed his surname to Ji because he was born in Jishui. The country's name is Xiong, so it is also called Xiong's family. He fought with Chi You in the wilderness of Zhuolu and killed him. He also defeated Emperor Yan at Banquan, and the princes respected him as the Son of Heaven, replacing the Shennong clan. Because of the auspicious soil virtues and the soil is yellow, he was named Huangdi.
