What does Bi Meng mean?

Beamon behemoth (Bi Meng for short)

Monster is a creature in western mythology. In Hebrew? (Behemot/B'hemot), which means "a group of animals", has a huge meaning and can only be compared with a group of animals. About its appearance, the Bible records it in the most detailed way: "You should watch hippos. I succeeded, and so did you. It eats grass like a cow. Its strength is in the waist, and its strength is in the muscles of the abdomen. It wags its tail like a cedar. The tendons of its thighs touch each other. Its bones are like copper pipes. Its limbs are like iron bars. It was the first creature created by God. The man who created it gave it a sword. The mountain gives it food, and it is also a place where all animals play. It lies under the lotus leaves, in the secret places of reeds and in puddles. The shade of the lotus leaf covers it. Willow trees by the stream surround it. The river overflowed and fell without a fight. Even if the water of the Jordan River rises to its mouth, it is safe. Who can catch it when it is alert? Who can cage it and put on its nose? " (Chapter 40 of the Bible's Book of Job) This description is more in line with hippopotamus except that the tail is like cedar, so the homonym translator directly calls Bi Meng "hippopotamus". However, regarding its prototype, some people say that it is an elephant, a buffalo and a crocodile. In the illustration, Bi Meng looks like a hippo, born with fangs and a lion's tail. Bi Meng is the largest creature on land, and can swallow 1000 peaks every day. It can't leave those peaks, or time will be out of order. Because of gluttony, God only made one (mentioned the original couple, and then God killed the mother).

According to the Book of Job, Bi Meng was the first to be created, but according to the second classic, Bi Meng and Leviathan were both born on the fifth day of creation: "On the fifth day, you ordered to cover part of the land with water to produce birds and fish. ..... and then you pick out two kinds of animals and give them names. One is a monster, and the other is a sea monster. You separated them because the sea couldn't hold them both. You told the beast to live in a piece of land, and you dried it on the third day of creation. There are 1000 mountains here. You told the siren to live in the sea. You keep these two animals alive. So your voters can eat at the time you choose. " (Ezra, Volume 2, Chapter 6) Enoch's account is similar, except that the sea monster is female and the beast is male. The former lives in the abyss of the ocean, and the latter's nest is in Dundaying, an ethereal desert east of Eden. The seventh chapter of Milton's Paradise Lost also mentioned Bi Meng, and the creation time was changed to the sixth day. Bi Meng is called an invincible creature in the Old Testament, and only the sword of the Lord can kill it. The Second Classic refers to the end of the feast of the Messiah. At that time, behemoths and sea monsters will fight and eventually die together, and become the food of the saints together with the giant bird bass. There is also a saying that they will all be thrown into the abyss. In the Dictionary of Hell written by M L Burton, Bi Meng's spiritual strength reached its peak in the year from the summer solstice of April in the Jewish calendar. At that time, it will land on the ground, growling and screaming, and the sound will shock the whole world. Tigers, leopards and jackals were scared off by it, and they dared not hunt at will all year round, so many weak creatures escaped. Later generations gradually added the characteristics of the devil to Bi Meng. Both the French ogre Henry Bouguer and the Russian mystic Mrs Hay lianna Polaski think it is a symbol of darkness and evil, and a pawn of Satan. The shape of the behemoth gradually changed. The most common version is an elephant with a round belly and two legs, and the variants are whales, dogs, foxes, wolves and so on. It has become the guardian of hell, often holding grand banquets and being famous for its singing in the underworld. In Islamic tradition, Bi Meng is Bahamut, and Arabic is? (Bah and m ū th) Or? Bahamut is the monster that supports this land. In Persia, it is equivalent to Hehayush. Bi Meng's mythical ancestors may be attributed to Tavare, the Egyptian god of production. She has the head of a hippo, the legs and feet of a lion, the back and tail of a crocodile, and the rest are still human.
