European style is more comfortable in this way! My family's name is Serena Heitz. Because the elements are candy and chocolate, she uses the transliteration of "sweet" and then adds repairs. The surname comes from Lolita, which is to hint at the fragments of children's background stories.
2. Free translation
I really seldom use this kind, because I need to find a lot of information to fit the background story line of your oc, but this kind of detail is really interesting! It is also one of the recommended methods.

3. Naming according to the prototype
This method is relatively limited, but it is really the method I use most personally.
The OCs in my world view are all evolved from my classmates, friends and family in reality. So they will be named according to their own names and hobbies in reality.
