The names of the "Twelve Scenes of Lotus Pond" have their own reasons, and most of them are named according to certain allusions and characteristics of the scenic spots. Zhuojin Pavilion is located on the southwest side of Chunwu Slope, facing the lotus pond in the south. The pavilion is named after a poem by Du Fu, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty. The first two words of the last line of the poem "Xiao Baming Mansion is actually looking for peach trees", "The garden by the Zhuojin River is not full".
It is said that washing brocade in Huansha River next to Du Fu's residence in Chengdu can make the brocade more vivid and unusual, so it is called "Zhuo Jin River". Zhuojin Pavilion was built by Qiao Weizhong, a general under Zhang Rou. After its completion, his maid often washed yarn in the lotus pond, so it was named "Zhuojin Pavilion" based on Du Fu's poem.
