What do you think is the most exciting event at the Winter Olympics?

The Olympic Games have always been a great creation of mankind's diligent pursuit of sports. We celebrate the birth of heroes in cheers, and at the same time we are extremely proud of creating better results in a sport. This kind of Pride comes from the breakthrough of human limits, and it is also the recognition of one's own physiological limits. Well, the same is true for the Winter Olympics, where every event shines with the light of humanity.

The most exciting event in my mind is short track speed skating. I believe there are many friends like me. Obsessed with the excitement of that simple thrill.

Short track speed skating

Short track speed skating originated in Canada. At that time, some Canadian speed skating enthusiasts often went to indoor ice hockey rinks to practice, which led to the emergence of indoor speed skating. Contest. At the beginning of the 20th century, short track speed skating gradually became widespread in European and American countries. In 1975, the International Skating Union established the Short Track Speed ??Skating Technical Committee. Since 1981, the World Short Track Speed ??Skating Championships have been held. In 1988, short track speed skating was listed as a Winter Olympics performance event for the first time at the Calgary Winter Olympics. In 1992, short track speed skating was listed as an official event at the Albertville Winter Olympics.

But why do I think this is the most exciting? I think the reasons are as follows.

1. A large number of talents? Fierce competition

What I like most about short track speed skating is that this competition has a large number of outstanding players. For example, we are familiar with Wang Meng, Zhou Yang, Zhang Hui, and Sun Linlin. South Korea’s Chen Sun-woo, Park Seung-ji, Cho Hae-ri, etc. American Apollo, Selsky Jr., Rutter, etc. Canada's Big and Little Hamelin. Bulgaria's Radanova, Italy's Fontana and so on.

That’s it. You know, the biggest attraction of sports events is that these excellent athletes can compete. You will find that all the cells in your body are beating together, which is exciting. It felt so good.

The most unforgettable game for me was Wang Meng’s short track speed skating women’s 500-meter final at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. I clearly remember that Wang Meng’s operation was so amazing that she let the game go. Losing the suspense, even when her opponent was desperately chasing her, she could still adjust her goggles, prepare a handsome celebration, and cross the finish line. It was the pride of the field and those unparalleled records that made the king Mona's classic victory while walking has always been talked about.

2. Exciting? Simple rules

Short track speed skating is a skating sport performed on an ice track with a circumference of 111.12 meters, so short track speed skating is also called " Short distance ice track and field.”

The specific rule is that athletes start from the same starting line. The positions in the first round of competition will be determined by drawing lots. In subsequent rounds, lanes will be allocated based on the results of the previous round, with the best scorers ranked in the inner lane. Athletes can overtake their opponents at any time during the competition as long as they do not violate the rules. If you collide with your body, trip someone, push or pull with your hands, etc., you will be punished by being disqualified from the competition.

So far, I feel that many people are saying that because of the collisions in short track speed skating, they think the rules should be changed and the competition should be divided into separate tracks. I don’t think so, because when I watch short track speed skating, I definitely appreciate the speed limits of athletes. But if it is divided into separate tracks, I think it will be less exciting, although the speed will be increased and the rules will be clearer and more standardized. But, this intuitive feeling makes me go watch speed skating. I don’t want to come here anymore, so I prefer to keep the same track. Of course, I prefer to abide by the rules and compete. After such an event, it feels very exciting and exciting.

Anyway, the sensory impulse that short track speed skating brings to me and the passion created by human beings are so infectious to me. I feel that I can see such a beautiful scene in my lifetime, really. It is extremely happy.
