The specific struggle history of Hua Tuo

Huatuo is a famous ancient doctor in China. He lived in the last years of the Eastern Han Dynasty (about AD 145-208) more than 700 years ago, and was born in Peiguoqiao County (now Bozhou City, Anhui Province). His real name is Hua, and Hua Tuo is just his nickname, which is a transliteration of Sanskrit "Agatha", which means God of Medicine. Because of his excellent medical skills, people respectfully call him Hua tuo. Shi Zai and Hua Tuo loved reading since childhood. They studied in Xuzhou, were familiar with classics and history, and loved medical skills. He attaches importance to moral cultivation and despises those who pursue fame and fortune. Chen Gui, the highest local governor in his hometown, once recommended him as Lian Xiao, and Huang Wan, the imperial court, also called him to be an official in Beijing, but he refused. He shuttled back and forth in Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Henan and other places with his medicine bag, and relieved people's suffering with superb medical skills. Hua tuo's medical knowledge is very profound. He is proficient in internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and acupuncture, especially in surgery, and is praised as the originator of surgery by later generations. He invented general anesthesia more than 1600 years earlier than European and American countries, and is highly respected in the history of world medicine. According to historical records, Hua Tuo used drugs and acupuncture to treat diseases. Often only a few drugs are used, and good results can be achieved by choosing the right acupoints. If acupuncture and drugs can't cure the diseases of internal organs, they should be treated by surgery. Before the operation, he asked the patient to take "Ma Fei San", and the patient was completely unconscious as drunk. He just broke his belly, cut it and accumulated it. If it's a tumor, cut it off. If it is in the stomach, cut it off, remove the dirty things, wash it and sew it up, and apply ointment to the wound. The wound will heal in four or five days. Return to normal in a month or so. Based on this, Hua Tuo was able to perform abdominal tumor resection and gastrointestinal surgery more than 700 years ago, with exquisite technique and good surgical treatment effect. Unfortunately, the "hemp boiling powder" he used at that time has long been lost. According to modern research, it may be made of Datura flower and other drugs. In addition to general anesthesia, Hua Tuo also created a physical therapy called "Wuqinxi". He believes that the human body must work regularly. Proper labor can promote digestive function, blood circulation, prevent diseases and delay aging. Just like a door mortar, it won't be eaten by insects if it is rotated frequently. According to this truth, Hua Tuo advocates that people can imitate the postures of five animals, that is, the tiger's forelimbs flutter, the deer stretches its head and neck, the bear lies down, the ape jumps vertically with long legs, and the bird spreads its wings and flies. Connecting these movements can exercise the whole body. Perseverance can help you stay healthy and get rid of diseases. Even if you only practice one of the movements, it will make people sweat a little, eliminate the cold and increase their appetite. His apprentice Upp insisted on exercising in this way until he was over 90 years old, with bright ears and strong teeth. Wuqinxi is recorded in historical materials, and it is also the earliest and most complete health preserving movement in China. It is actually the pioneer of modern aerobics. Hua Tuo was respected by people at that time and later generations because of his superb medical skills and enthusiasm for treating people, leaving many vivid and touching stories and legends. There are more than 20 medical records in the official history alone. For example, The History of the Three Kingdoms said: One day, Hua Tuo met a patient on the road, lying in the car moaning endlessly. Hua Tuo diagnosed it as eating disorder. It can be cured with 3 liters of mashed garlic juice and half a bowl of sour vinegar. The patient did as he said, and he really recovered. It can be seen that Huatuo's experience in treating gastrointestinal diseases is very rich. In many stories and novels, Hua Tuo's medical skills have been deified. Its most famous and pleasant works are curettage of bones to cure poison and craniotomy to get saliva in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The former is about Guan Yu, the general of Liu Bei. When he led troops to attack Cao Cao's Fancheng, he was shot in the right arm by Cao Jun's poisoned arrow. The poison was in his bones and the bruises disappeared. Hua tuo heard the news and sent a doctor to his home on his own initiative. After the consultation, according to Guan Yu's opinion, he cut the flesh directly with a sharp knife until it reached the bone, without using anesthetic or binding his arms. Hua tuo scraped the bone with a knife and heard the sound. After a while, scrape the poison clean, apply the medicine and sew it with thread. Just after the operation, Guan Yu got up and said to the generals, "This arm is as comfortable as before, and it doesn't hurt at all. Sir, what a great doctor! " Soon after, Cao Cao had a headache and asked Hua Tuo for treatment. Hua Tuo said that the root of the disease lies in the brain, and acupuncture and drugs are ineffective. After drinking the hemp, you can chop off your head with a sharp axe and take out the wind saliva before you can remove the roots. Cao Cao was furious and said that Hua Tuo wanted to kill him. Hua Tuo was going to be put in prison and put to death in handcuffs. For many years, anyone who has read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms or seen the Three Kingdoms Opera has been full of praise for Hua Tuo's scraping treatment of poison and filled with indignation at Cao Cao's unjust death of Hua Tuo. As we all know, romance is not an official history, and these two things described in the book are quite different from historical facts. First of all, it is not Hua tuo who cursed Guan Yu, although he is fully capable. Because Guan Yu attacked Fancheng in AD 2 19, and Hua Tuo was killed as early as AD 208. He was indeed killed by Cao Cao, but not because he wanted to open his skull to get saliva. The historical fact is that Hua Tuo and Cao Cao were originally from the same town in Qiao County. At that time, Cao Cao often had migraines, which many doctors could not cure. Only when Hua Tuo gives him an injection can the pain stop, but it cannot be eradicated and often recurs. Cao Cao, who was suspicious by nature, thought that Hua Tuo deliberately left his hand for self-respect, so he sprouted murder. In addition, Cao Cao wanted to take the highly skilled Hua Tuo as his own, forcing him to be his own health care doctor. Hua tuo, on the other hand, has both fame and fortune and is unwilling to serve Cao Cao alone with medical skills. After he went home for an excuse, he refused Cao Cao's employment several times on the grounds that his wife was ill. Cao Cao was furious and sent someone to investigate. He told me that if Hua Tuo's wife was really ill, I would give him some time and give him 40 welcome beans. If it is fraud, arrest and punish. As a result of the visit, Hua Tuo's wife was not ill, and he refused to return, so he was arrested and sent to Xuchang prison. Xun, Cao Cao's counselor, once advised Cao Cao to be tolerant of Hua Tuo, but Cao Cao refused to listen, insisted on killing Hua Tuo, and boasted that even if there were no such rats in the world, there was no need to worry about not having a good doctor. Ironically, however, shortly after Hua Tuo was killed, his beloved son Cang Shu, that is, seven-year-old prodigy Cao Chong, was seriously ill and could not be cured. Cao Cao sighed helplessly: "I regret killing Hua tuo, which made this son stiff." Before Hua Tuo was killed, Shi Zai took out a manuscript and gave it to the jailer who guarded him. He said, "I'm going to die today. I hate that a green book has not been circulated in the world." I will give it to the public so that I can continue my skills and save lives. " The jailer didn't dare to take it, and Hua tuo didn't force it, so he burned it. So Hua Tuo didn't leave any medical monographs. The existing book China Tibetan Classics, signed by Hua Tuo, is a masterpiece of later generations. This is really an irreparable regret in the medical history of China and even the world.
