Hongxi was the second son of Prince Yin Yong abandoned by Kangxi, but after his eldest brother died, he became the eldest son in name. He is also the first grandson of Kangxi, and he also has a distinguished identity-the grandson of the emperor. He is also the eldest grandson of Kangxi, born in 1694 (thirty-three years of Kangxi).

In the sixth year of Yongzheng, Lixian was promoted to Prince Heshuo. In the fourth year of Qianlong (1739), in September, Hongxi was removed from the post of Prince for "building a party and doing great things".
After seven years of Qianlong (1742), Prince Li Hongxi died at the age of 49.
