What was Hanzhong called in ancient times?

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Hanzhong was a county under the jurisdiction of Yizhou, the largest of the thirteen states in the world, called Hanzhong County. Hanzhong County has nine counties: Nanzheng County, Chenggu County, Xicheng County, Baozhong County, Biyang County, Anyang County, Wuxi County, Shang Yong County and Fangling County. The origin of Hanzhong's name is because it is located in the middle reaches of the Han River, so it is called Hanzhong. When Zhang Lu occupied Hanzhong, Hanzhong County was changed to Hanning County. After Cao Cao conquered Zhang Lu, he returned to Hanzhong County, set aside Xicheng County and Anyang County, set up Xicheng County, Tin County and Shangyong County, set up Shang Yong County, set aside Fangling County and set up Fangling County.

During Cao Cao's occupation of Hanzhong, Hanzhong County only governed Nanzheng County, Baozhong County, Chenggu County and mian yang County. The county governs Nanzheng (now Hanzhong City), and its jurisdiction is roughly the same as that of Hanzhong area today. In 2 19 AD, Huang Zhongbu of Liu Beijun killed Xia in the battle of Dingjun Mountain and occupied Hanzhong. After that, Cao Cao forces withdrew from Hanzhong, and Hanzhong County was occupied by Liu Bei Group. In those days, Liu Bei called the King of Hanzhong and established the China of Han Dynasty, with Ba County, Shu County, Hanzhong County and Qianwei County as the territory of Han China. At this time, Hanzhong County was added by Liu Bei by three counties, and seven counties were owned by * * *, namely: Nanzheng County, Baozhong County, Mianyang County, Chenggu County, Nanxiang County, Huangjin County, Puchi County and Xingshi County.

Because the jurisdiction of Hanzhong county is different in different periods, this paper takes Hanzhong county in Liu Bei's period as an example to illustrate the current position of Hanzhong county. Hanzhong County in Liu Bei's period was slightly smaller than today's Hanzhong, less than Lueyang County and ningqiang county, and its position was roughly the same as today's Hanzhong. Hanzhong is located in the south of Qinling Mountains and Baoji in Shaanxi Province, east of Lueyang County and Yangpingguan, south of Ankang City and north of Micang Mountain.
