North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO: North Atlantic Treaty Organization; Faotan: L 'Organization du traité de l 'Atlanticnord), abbreviated as NATO or NATO, is an international military group organization established by the United States and major developed countries in Western Europe and North America to realize defense cooperation. NATO has a large number of nuclear weapons and conventional troops and is an important military force in the West. This is the symbol of the military strategic alliance of the capitalist camp after World War II, the extension and development of the Marshall Plan in the military field, enabling the United States to control the defense system of the European Union headed by Germany and France, and the symbol of the leading position of the United States as a world superpower.
NATO holds many military exercises every year, and gives them different codes according to different situations. This is the practice of international military exercises.
Secondly, weapons, such as weapons codes of China, Russian and other countries, can't get the model description at the first time, especially through satellite reconnaissance and espionage, and there is no model. In order to distinguish it from other weapons internally, NATO generally gives each weapon in the east a code name. For example, Soviet surface-to-surface missiles usually start with an English "S", such as SS- 18 Satan and SS-25 Stalin. Another example is the destroyer China 05 1 found in Dalian and 052 found in Shanghai. Generally speaking, military fans are used to using the code of the country of origin. Only when the country of origin code of some weapons is unknown or even difficult to remember, NATO code will be adopted. For example, Soviet submarines, 636M and 877EKM, are easily confused, so they are generally called NATO code names.
