Li Bai’s story

1.

One summer, the sun was scorching, and Li Bai was unbearably thirsty. He thought it would be great if there was a hotel where I could have a drink. Suddenly, a small flag was picked out in front of a house in front. Li Bai drove the donkey straight to the shop. When I got there, I saw clearly that the word "wine" was not written on the flag, but the word "vinegar"! Li Bai's interest suddenly disappeared. It turned out to be a vinegar shop. He then thought about it and decided that it was okay. A few sips of tea would be better than being thirsty. So I walked into the store and saw a county magistrate sitting at the table taking a rest.

Li Bai said to the shopkeeper: "Every man has a mouth and a penis, there is a temple in the bamboo forest but no monks, a woman holds a son in her arms, and she is born on the twenty-first day of the month." The shopkeeper was a very smart man. He heard that Li Bai was asking him questions in riddles, and he was very impressed. He replied: "Let me tell you, this is the famous Shanxi mature vinegar. It tastes very good. Sir, you can taste it." "

Li Bai said: "I can buy a jar of vinegar, but I am very thirsty. I want the shopkeeper to make a pot of tea." After that, he took out the silver and handed it to the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper happily made tea for Li Bai and picked out a jar of vinegar. Li Bai picked up the tea bowl and drank it all in one gulp, and then said to the shopkeeper: "There are no birds in Eshan, but women in the west are loved by everyone. If you open a big mouth and swallow a small mouth, you can't get enough water after three o'clock."

The shop owner nodded and responded: "Thank you for visiting our shop. Good go, sir."

Li Bai was carrying a vinegar jar and was about to step out of the door when he saw a man who looked like a county official in the vinegar shop stood up and shouted : "What a shallow person you are, how dare you say something in front of me? You are so overconfident!"

Li Bai glanced at him and said solemnly: "The beans are under the roots of the mountain, and the moon is hanging in the sky. There is no firewood, but the king is one family!"

After that, he walked out, got on the donkey, flicked his whip, and walked away. The stupid county magistrate didn't know the meaning of Li Bai's words. After hearing this, he laughed secretly. I thought: Isn’t that right? I am like the bright moon, and he is the bean under the mountain. My surname is Wang, and my wife’s surname is Li. We are the same family!

When Li Bai was 14 years old, he was already well-known in his hometown. One spring, a squire named Hu celebrated his 50th birthday. He invited all the rich and famous people in the city to a banquet, and Li Bai was also invited.

Squire Hu, who had some knowledge of writing and writing, saw that Li Bai was young but not strict with etiquette, so he wanted to make him look ugly in public and make him restrain himself. He pointed to a painting on the wall for everyone to see. There was an old immortal in the painting, holding a big wine jar in his arms, sleeping on the rock. He didn't know whether he was drunk or asleep. The mouth of the jar was facing down, and the wine was flowing out. flow.

Squire Hu said to Li Bai: "I heard that my nephew is talented. I have a first couplet here, but I am suffering from no second couplet. Now I would like to ask you to write the second couplet." After that, he shook his head and read: Youjiazhu is a Drunk, I fell asleep. The old god hugged the wine jar and nestled on the pillow. I don't know whether he was drunk or asleep.

Li Bai thought for a moment and pointed at Hu Xiangshen’s fat body and said: A month plus half means a person is fat, a month plus a half means he is bloated. Hu Xiangshen stood in the middle with his belly straightened out. Everyone couldn’t help but laugh, not knowing whether he was fat or bloated. Laughing, Squire Hu looked very embarrassed. After drinking, Squire Hu accompanied everyone to the garden for a walk. When he saw some geese playing in the lotus pond, he pointed at the goslings and made another couplet to Li Bai: The white geese have not yet taken off all the yellow, and they don't know how high the sky is and how high the sky is.

At this time, there happened to be a turtle sticking out its head in the pool, looking around. Li Bai frowned and blurted out: The turtle's shell has been polished long ago, so it can be regarded as a cunning old man. Hu Xiangshen knew that he was indeed no match for Li Bai, so he no longer embarrassed Li Bai.

3.

Yang Guozhong, a favorite of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, was jealous of Li Bai's talent. He was very dissatisfied and always wanted to ridicule him. One day, Yang Guozhong came up with a way to ask Li Bai to play a three-step dialogue. As soon as Li Bai entered the door, Yang Guozhong looked at Li Bai and sarcastically said: Two apes are cutting wood in the mountain, and I asked the monkeys how to saw each other? "Saw" is a homologue of "sentence", and "monkey" alludes to Li Bai.

Li Bai listened and smiled slightly and said: "My lord, please start. If you can't match within three steps, I will lose." Yang Guozhong wanted to finish the three steps quickly, but as soon as he took one step, Li Bai pointed Yang Guozhong's feet shouted: "The horse is hiding in the mud, let's see how the beast comes out!" "Hoof" is a homologue of "title", which perfectly matches the first couplet.

Yang Guozhong wanted to take advantage, but he was humiliated by Li Bai instead. As soon as he raised his feet, he was ridiculed as "a beast with hoofs", which made him neither walking nor walking, which was very embarrassing.

4.

Li Bai once had a strange dream when he was a boy. One night, after Li Bai was reading and composing, he fell into a deep sleep. In the dream, he was still writing furiously. Suddenly, he found a lotus flower as white as jade blooming on the tip of his pen, dazzling with brilliance. In the midst of his surprise, pieces of white paper came from the sky and fell in front of his eyes.

Li Bai was very happy, guessing that it must be a magic pen sent to him by an immortal. Thinking of this, Li Bai grabbed his pen and started writing quickly. Unexpectedly, what fell on the paper was a blooming lotus. So Li Bai picked up a bunch of lotus flowers and ran to the pond outside the house. He stood by the pond, raised his hand and sprinkled the lotus flowers into the water.

In an instant, a miracle happened: after the lotus entered the water, it immediately sprouted stems and leaves and bloomed one after another. The breeze blew, the flowers swayed gently, and the fragrance filled people's hearts. Li Bai was very happy. Just when he was about to reach out to touch it, he suddenly woke up. Li Bai recalled the various plots in the dream and sighed: What a magical and beautiful dream this was.

After that, Li Bai's talents became more advanced and he studied harder. He went deep into social life, traveled to the famous mountains and rivers of his motherland, and wrote a large number of immortal poems. He eventually became a talented and world-famous poet. Many of his famous poems are still chanted and praised by readers at home and abroad. Later, people regarded the flower in the dream pen as a good sign of literary talent, and the idiom "flower in the pen in the dream" was used to describe a person's talent and rich literary thoughts.

5.

When Li Bai was a child, he found a white-haired old woman grinding a very thick iron rod by a clear stream. The old woman polished it very seriously and hard. Drop after drop of sweat rolled down the old woman's forehead, but the old woman just raised her hand to wipe the sweat with her sleeve, and continued to grind the big iron rod. Li Bai was very curious when he saw the old woman grinding the iron rod so hard.

So he ran forward and came to the old woman's side. While gently pulling the corner of the old woman's clothes, he said politely: "Hello, mother-in-law. Could you please grind this?" What are you doing with the big iron rod?" The old woman continued to sharpen her iron rod attentively and said without looking back, "I want to grind it into a thin embroidery needle."

Li Bai's eyes widened and he pouted and said, "Can such a thick iron rod be ground into a needle?" The old woman turned to look at Li Bai and saw his disbelief, so she stopped what she was doing. He knelt down and said kindly to Li Bai: "Good boy, as long as you work hard, an iron rod can be ground into an embroidery needle!" Li Bai seemed to suddenly understand a profound truth and nodded vigorously.
