The 32nd generation disciple of the Shaolin Temple in Songshan, Henan. He converted to Shaolin at the age of 12 and studied martial arts and Zen with Zen Master Deyang, the chief instructor of the Shaolin Temple’s martial monk team, which lasted eleven years. On behalf of the Shaolin Temple monk team, he visited dozens of countries in Europe, America, and Southeast Asia for kung fu performances and friendly visits. In 2003, he was noticed by Stephen Chow by chance. He made his debut on the big screen and participated in the filming of the movie "Kung Fu", playing the main role of "Twelve Road Tan Legs" Coolie Qiang. When talking about filming "Kung Fu", Xing Yu Expressing his lament about the difference between screen kung fu and real kung fu, he said: "Before I joined the film crew, because I practiced martial arts in the Shaolin Temple since I was a child, I had a mentality that it was not a big problem. But when I officially came into contact with this film When it comes to the action scenes in the movie, I feel that the real kung fu is completely different from the action in the movie. I think Director Zhou is a very serious and dedicated actor, and he can capture every small movement of the actors. It’s very detailed. There is a scene in the film where our three masters fight against the ax gang. The director strived for perfection in every detail and it took almost a month to film.”
And joined Xinghui Overseas. Ltd. and became a contract artist.
Shi Xingyu’s popularity has been greatly improved after two blockbusters, "Kung Fu" and "The Fuse". He hopes to make great progress and development in the future.
