Why did Urumqi used to be called Dihua?

Dihua is the old name of Urumqi, Xinjiang today. This name was named in the 28th year of Qianlong (1763) after Emperor Qing Qianlong conquered the rebellion of Junggar khanate, which returned to Xinjiang.

Dihua means enlightenment and education, which has two meanings. Enlightenment is mainly based on literature, that is, it inspires Uighurs to move towards civilization. Education is a right that can only be exercised by elders or superiors, which means education by force and culture, because it is necessary for the central government to suppress the rebellion by force in areas that have just subsided. After the founding of New China, some people thought Dihua was a derogatory term for ethnic minorities, so they changed it to Mongolian, a beautiful pasture-Urumqi. Looking back at the history from the historical development and the current situation in Xinjiang, Lord Qianlong was a great emperor with far-sighted political foresight. In addition, Xiang Fukang was also named by Emperor Qing Qianlong.
