A Dream of Red Mansions: Summary of the 37th Story

Back to the 37th Autumn Frost Zhai, I occasionally got the topic of "Flower Night Chrysanthemum" in Haitang Society.

The following autumn, Baoyu was bored because he was idle in the garden. At this time, he received a letter from Tanchun. Tan Chun proposed to build a poetry club in Daguan Garden. Hearing this, Baoyu got up and went to Qiushuangzhai, where he met Baochai, Daiyu, Yingchun and Xichun. While everyone was talking and laughing, Li Wan came. Dai Yu suggested that if you set up a poetry club, you should give yourself a personal number first. After some thinking, everyone has an elegant name. Daiyu is Xiaoxiang's concubine, Baoyu is her son, Li Wan is an old farmer of Daoxiang, Tanchun is a guest of Banana, and Baochai is a gentleman. Yingchun and Xichun don't want to write poems. They are called "Lingzhou" and "Ouxie" respectively.

It was the original intention of Tanchun, so Tanchun should be the master first. Li Wan gave a question, limited to rhyme in spring, and cherished spring to supervise the field. The title is Ode to Begonia. In a short time, it was all written. Tanchun chanted Bai Haitang when it was sunny after the rain and the sun set, without sadness. Bai Haitang described by Baochai is dignified, reserved, steady and peaceful. The beauty of Baoyu lies in his obsession with Daiyu, which shows that Lin Daiyu is a symbol of Bai Haitang. Daiyu's poetry is quick, showing a completely different feature from Baochai's melodramatic. Later, Baoyu remembered Shi Xiangyun and invited Xiangyun to join the poetry club. Xiangyun also wrote two poems about Haitang, which are natural and fluent. In the evening, Baochai and Xiangyun agreed to draw up twelve infinite rhymes before turning off the lights and sleeping.
