Tang Ye Sub-district Office in Licheng District of Jinan City was established. Who knows the origin of the name Tang Ye?

With the continuous development of urban construction in Jinan, "Tang Ye New Town" has become synonymous with Jinan New Town. As we all know, Tang Ye used to be an ancient village. She has a long history and ancient legends-

The legendary Tangye Village

People in Tangye Village are not surnamed Tang, but mostly surnamed Zhao and Wang.

The reason why Tang Ye Village is called Tang Ye is related to an old legend. Everyone in the village has been told this legend since childhood, so in their eyes, it is not a legend, but a fact.

According to legend, when Emperor Taizong of Li Shimin marched eastward to Korea, a large group of people passed through Tang Ye Village. Due to the exhaustion of the army and the lack of food and armaments, Li Shimin ordered to camp on the spot to raise materials.

Li Shimin accidentally found an iron mine on a nearby hill. He is a treasure. Iron ore was a treasure of smelting weapons at that time and played an important role in the military. Li Shimin ordered the construction of a smelter here to smelt weapons on a large scale. Slowly, people gathered here and formed a village called Tangye. Later, Tang Ye Village continued from generation to generation.

Legends are legends after all. When did Tang Ye Village begin? There are no relevant historical documents. Therefore, in order to find the ruins of the Tang Dynasty smelter and uncover the origin and history of Tang Ye Village, archaeologists put into archaeological work before the comprehensive construction of "Tang Ye New Town".

The most likely place to find the site of the smelter is a small mine in the north of the village, because the relevant departments once mined here in the 1950s, and then Guodian Iron Works also mined iron ore on a large scale. However, due to serious damage, at present, there are no traces of ancient mining near this hill.

Uncle Zhao, who is over 80 years old in the village, recalled that when he was playing in a small mine in the north of the village, he found traces of iron slag or large pieces of red soil, and now it is long gone. Archaeologists have not yet determined the location of the Tang Dynasty smelter. Gao Jixi, captain of the archaeological team of Tang Ye site, believes that the Tang Dynasty smelter was probably buried under the village.

"Old Objects" Witness Ancient Tang Ye

Tang Ye Village is a big village with more than 2,500 people now. Take a walk in the village, and you will feel the strong ancient style. The cobblestone path is flat and clear, and the old houses with ups and downs are strewn at random, with dogs barking and chickens crowing, and the old man lazily basking in the sun. ...

There are three ancient wells in the south of the village, namely, old wells, upper wells and lower wells. It is said that these wells, like Tang Ye Village, have a history of over 1000 years. The water in the old well is still clear, the upper and lower wells not far from the old well have dried up, and the wellhead has been covered with stumps and carefully protected, which shows the deep feelings of the villagers for them.

Each well has a stone platform and a stone wellhead. There is also a stone trough beside the old well, which is used to wash clothes and drink cattle, horses and livestock. The reporter saw that there was a replacement stone wellhead next to the old well, and the wear trace of the well rope was vivid. The wellhead of the old well is now made of four thick bluestones, which are already wet and covered with moss.

77-year-old Aunt Wang sat on the stone bench in front of her house to bask in the sun. Seeing that we were curious about the old well, she chatted with us: "The water in the old well is the sweetest. It is said that it comes down in one continuous line with Baotu Spring. When there is no running water, the whole village drinks the water from this well! " Aunt Wang recalled that there were often four people carrying water in four directions at the same time. Looking at dozens of deep furrows ground by well ropes, we know that many past events and stories of Tang Yeren are due to this old well.

There is a cobblestone path on the west side of the old well, which winds north and crosses the streets. Occasionally, there are ancient grain depots, long garden stones and century-old pagodas in the farmhouse, which embellish an ancient picture of life.

In addition to the ancient wells and some old houses, the existing historical sites in Tang Ye Village include the memorial archway of Song Xiaozi and the genealogy monument of Song family.

The filial piety archway was built at the pier of Xingfu Bridge in the south of 1972 village, and it can be seen so far. There is a dragon's forehead on the stone tablet, which reads "imperial edict" and "honor"

The genealogical monument of the Song family is on a slope in the west of the village. This stone tablet, which was carved in the 21st year of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty, begins with the following words: "The ancestral home of the Song family was Zaoqiang, and moved to Tangyezhuang in the east of the city before the Ming Dynasty, and then gathered here." These records also tell us that the name of "Tang Ye" village should be earlier than the Ming Dynasty, which can be traced back to before the Song and Yuan Dynasties, or as the legend goes, Tang Ye village came from the earlier Tang Dynasty.

Looking at Tang ye through history

The legends, old objects and life of the ancient villages in Tang Ye all add infinite charm to the ancient villages. Such ancient villages, dating back to ancient times, give people unlimited imagination.

Archaeologists try their best to explore the ancient signs of life in this ancient village and concentrate on excavating the legendary smelter. However, what the archaeological team didn't expect was that the smelter didn't find it. Instead, a big secret was discovered in a large field in the south of Tang Ye Village: a large settlement site from Zhou Dynasty to Han Dynasty was hidden in this field where villagers worked hard.

Everyone is curious about this mysterious area, and the reporter can't bear it. He followed Gao Jixi, the captain of the archaeological team, and walked into the Tang Ye site together to see the different living conditions of people in different times in Tang Ye:

The whole site (including the ancient village of Tang Ye) covers an area of about 500,000 square meters. It starts from Tuhe River in the east, reaches Liugong River in the west, spans Hengqi Road about 100 meters in the south, and crosses Century Avenue in the north, which is roughly rectangular.

The whole website is like a depth map. Let's slowly appreciate the style of Tang Ye ruins since the Western Zhou Dynasty (pictured).

In the Zhou Dynasty, Area 2, Area 3 and Area 4 were large-scale settlement and living areas. According to archaeologists, a large amount of domestic garbage has been excavated in these areas and a large number of signs of life have been found. "It may be composed of several large natural villages. At that time, this area was densely populated and relatively prosperous. "

In the Han Dynasty, 1 was regarded as a burial area. The archaeological team found stone reliefs here, which were specially placed in tombs. At that time, there were still people living around Area 2 and Area 6, and manual workshops were added in Area 5. As you can imagine, people frequently shuttle between the workshop area and the living area, and their lives are orderly.

In the Tang Dynasty, a village was built above the burial area in 1, which is now Tangye Village. Gao Jixi told reporters that although it is speculated that Tang Ye Village has been established in 1 area, it is puzzling that no living relics of the Tang Dynasty have been found in areas 2, 3 and 5.

During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, a small group of people lived near Area 5, and other areas were unclear. Today, the 1 area is still the place where the villagers in Tang Ye Village live tirelessly, and the 2, 3 and 5 areas south of century avenue are the cultivated land on which the villagers depend.

In the past, in the same place, there were traces of life in different dynasties and rich imagination space.

In the future, a new city will rise here, with ancient villages, archaeological sites and traces of life left by generations ... they will all be buried in the soil and in the long river of history.

A new life will start again.
