Peanut is a kind of food that people like, and Baji Peanut is favored by people because of its high quality and delicious taste. Siyang, located in the alluvial plain of Huanghuai in northern Jiangsu, belongs to the transitional climate of subtropical monsoon, with four distinct seasons and abundant sunshine and rain, which is suitable for peanut planting. Most of the land in Baji Township belongs to sandy loam, and there are many temperature differences between day and night. The grown peanuts have thin shells, tender meat, high oil content and good taste. Baji peanut is one of the famous specialties in Siyang, which has a long history and strong local characteristics. As early as the Spring and Autumn Period, Confucius went from Lu to Wu to give lectures. He passed by the place of today's Eight Episodes. Local students were famous for retaining his lectures. Some of them sent dry meat and some sent local peanuts. After Confucius tasted peanuts, he repeatedly praised: "If you eat peanuts, you will live forever." After Confucius left, people named the place where he gave lectures "Xuecheng" and built a house to set up a memorial tablet. He praised the local peanuts.
baji small peanuts, after frying, have the characteristics of white, fragrant, sweet and crisp, and are beautifully packaged and presented to relatives and friends, which can be called top grade. With the development of market economy, the local government implemented industrial structure adjustment, expanded peanut planting area, improved peanut varieties, carried out the project of increasing fertilizer and supplementing potassium, implemented pollution-free management, and actively developed township enterprises that fried peanuts. In 1999, "Eight Sets of Small Peanuts" became a registered trademark, and its products sold well all over the country. The well-known Fanyin Temple is located on the south bank of the old Yellow River in Siyang County, covering an area of about three acres, with an apple orchard in front and a green forest belt behind it. The temple is hidden among pines and cypresses. Turn right from Renmin South Road and walk along Foyuan Road to the west for less than 2 meters, and you will arrive at Fanyin Temple. Fanyin Temple, formerly known as Guanyin Temple, was built in the early Qing Dynasty. Its original site is in the north gate of Zhongxing Town on the north bank of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and it has a history of 3 years. At the beginning of the 2th century, there were only three earth-walled grass-covered temples in the front hall and three grass-covered temples in the back hall of Guanyin Temple, and there were several huts in the east and west, all of which were firewood houses, in which more than 2 bodhisattvas were placed. According to the memories of local old people, it has been passed down from monk Cai to Fang Yu and Shengyi for five or six generations. During the Cultural Revolution, all the bodhisattvas in Guanyin Temple were smashed by the rebels, and Fang Yu, Guangsheng and other monks were raised by neighborhood committees as "five guarantees". After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1979, the policy of freedom of religious belief was truly implemented. However, the original land of Guanyin Temple was occupied by most of the surrounding residents, leaving only three grass halls with less than 3 square meters, which were dilapidated, with few believers and neglected incense. After 199, the nunnery was presided over by the Shengyi teacher of Youtuo Lin in Yangzhou, and the number of believers doubled, and the legal profession gradually flourished.
in the spring of 1992, Mr. Chen Huijian, a hometown friend in Taiwan, went back to the mainland to visit relatives. This person is a famous Buddhist researcher on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and even in Southeast Asia. Once, his young Sun Hanqing accidentally led Mr. Hui Jian to worship Buddha in the temple. Seeing that the venue of "Guanyin Temple" was too narrow, he was impressed. After he returned to Taiwan, he published an article in Dragon Tree Magazine, urging believers on the island to donate more than 1, US dollars, sponsoring the reconstruction of Guanyin Temple in his hometown, promoting Buddhism and increasing tourist attractions. Since then, with the strong support of Siyang county government, in July 1993, within the jurisdiction of the original cotton seed farm on the south bank of the abandoned Yellow River, two acres and six points of clean land were selected for reconstruction. Construction began in August, and Mr. Hui Jian's eldest son Aiqun supervised the project, which was completed at the end of May the following year. After the completion of the new temple, "Guanyin Temple" was renamed as "Fanyin Temple", and a grand opening ceremony of the Buddha was held on September 5, 1994 (July 3 of the lunar calendar). Mr. Chen Huijian personally led fourteen Taiwan Province monks and laymen to Siyang to attend the opening ceremony of the temple. The leaders of the county party committee and government, as well as the principals of the bureaus of various ministries and commissions, were also present to congratulate. Huang Wei, Nong Wei, Xinyuan and other township mass literature and art propaganda teams also rushed to the scene to dance dragons and lions to entertain; Rows of commercial stalls were set up along both sides of Xuhuai Highway, and 5, to 6, people in the county gathered in Fanyin Temple for sightseeing and shopping. At the opening ceremony, Master Mingshan, the director of the Provincial Buddhist Association, and Zeng Hongxiang, the county magistrate of Siyang, spoke at the meeting respectively. Later, their speech materials and photos were published in the journal Hongya published by Mr. Chen Lao, and the names of the Sanskrit Temple spread across the Taiwan Strait and Southeast Asia. The relocation of Guanyin Temple and the completion of Fanyin Temple fully reflect the warm feelings of Taiwan Province compatriots headed by Chen Huijian who love their country and their hometown.
Fanyin Temple is divided into three main halls: front, middle and back. The front hall is the Heavenly King's Hall. As soon as you enter the gate, there is a smiling statue of Maitreya Buddha. When people see the smiling Buddha, they think of the profound meaning of couplets on both sides. The first couplet is: Laugh at people who laugh at the ridiculous world every day; The bottom line is: a big belly can accommodate things that are difficult in the world. Behind the statue of Maitreya is Wei Tuo's protector with a sword. There are also more than 8 kilograms of big clocks and drums with a diameter of 1.2 meters in the Temple of the King of Heaven. At 3 am and 9 pm in the Temple, the bells and drums are knocked once, and the sound is several miles, which is quite imposing. In the temple courtyard, against the backdrop of two rows of pines and flowers, a cast iron tripod with a height of about 3 meters stands high in the center. The five East Wing Rooms are libraries, which contain more than 2, books on Buddhism and popular science for monks and laymen to read. There is also a large color TV set in the room, with more than 5 sets of video tapes and video discs for chanting Buddha. The four west wing rooms are guest rooms, which are specially used for receiving tourists.
The central hall is the Hall of the Great Hero, which is the main building in the temple, with blue bricks and tiles, eaves and walls, and five vermilion pillars under the verandah, which looks antique. There are three giant Buddha statues more than 2 meters high in the Hall of Ursa Major, namely Sakyamuni, Pharmacist and Amitabha. The three giant buddhas are golden, solemn and kind. On both sides of the three icons hanging on the back wall, there are striking banners with the words "Sincerity, purity, equality, awareness and compassion, seeing through and letting go of freedom". On the back of the three giant buddhas is a statue of Guanyin standing on the back of Aobei. The golden boy and the dragon girl stand on both sides, showing the image of universal salvation and great compassion. The Dongshan wall of Daxiong Hall is inlaid with marble inscriptions engraved with the origin of Fanyin Temple; The list of 682 Taiwan Province people who donated money is engraved on the wall of Xishan Mountain. The back hall is the Dizang Hall, in the middle of which is dedicated the statue of King Dizang and Bodhisattva, the leader of the nether world. Put the urn rack along the inner wall. After Mr. Chen Huijian died and was cremated, "the relics offered gifts until the flowers fell into lotus", leaving more than 1, relics and more than 1 relics for families and temples on both sides of the strait. Mr. Chen Lao's stupa is also stored in the Tibetan Hall of Fanyin Temple. Visitors often feel admiration when they see the colorful jade-like relics left behind by Mr. Chen Lao. There is a two-story building in the northeast corner of the Tibetan Temple. There are three jade buddhas in the middle of the downstairs, and the upper floor is the Tibetan Scripture Building. There are two sets of more than 16 copies of the Tibetan Scripture stored upstairs, which can be described as the treasure of the town temple. These two Tripitaka Scriptures were bought by Mr. Chen Huijian from Japan.
On the first and fifteenth day of the first lunar month, or on the day when Bodhisattva Guanyin became a Buddha and became a monk, many believers came in an endless stream to burn incense and worship Buddha, presenting a peaceful scene. The temple is full of bells and drums, instruments, Qionghua Yaocao, pines and cypresses, which is really a good place for traveling and chanting Buddhism in our city.
