The Red Army Grassland Park is located on the left bank of Anning River in the county seat, starting from Guanyinyan Bridge in the south and reaching jiefang bridge in the north, covering an area of 24 hectares with a total length of 3.2 kilometers. The design of the park combines the urban ecological wetland with the red culture of Mianning, with the theme of red, ecology and pastoral culture, and integrates education, leisure, fitness and entertainment. By introducing water into the park and creating a garden landscape, the ten most important historical moments in the Red Army's 25,000-mile long March are concentrated in this 3.2-kilometer range in a narrative way. The park is a municipal park and a wetland park. It was named Red Army Grassland Park because of its integration into the Long March culture of the Red Army.
The landscape expansion project of the supporting park of the Red Army Cultural Square is characterized by the continuation of the water system from Yihai Lake, forming a multi-layer waterfall landscape. The hydrophilic trail on the west side of the water system twists and turns with different steps. With the change of water system height difference, the hydrophilic trail stretches and fluctuates, and the combination of wild plant planting enhances the mobility and diversity of space. The gentle slope grassland on the east side of the water system not only serves as the landscape background, but also weakens the influence of the dam on the landscape. At the same time, the original landscape trees such as ginkgo biloba and weeping willows are preserved to the maximum extent. The hydrophilic trail outside the dike is placed along the river, so that the masses can get close to our mother river-Anning River to the maximum extent. Advanced paving technology was introduced into the embankment, and a red concrete permeable pavement was built, symbolizing the red road that the Red Army had walked through during the Long March. Diversion of water into the park in the levee, the Red Army Lake was built with the alliance of Yi and Hai in the Long March of the Red Army as the node, and the lake water was delayed, forming an undulating stream effect. On the lakeside and downstream, a waterfront trail will be built. At the same time, according to the historical facts of the Long March, the landscape wall of the Red Army's Long March crossing Mianning was built to reproduce the scene of the Red Army's Long March on the levee in the form of flowers, pears and bamboos. The whole park will meander from the upper reaches of the Anning River, reflecting the historical process of the Red Army's Long March, remembering history and inheriting culture.
