What's the name of the sphinx?

The Sphinx is called Andrew Sphinx, which means "father of terror" in Arabic. It sits west facing east, crouching next to the Havla Pyramid, with a length of 73 meters, a height of about 2 1 meter, a face width of 5 meters and an ear of nearly 2 meters.

The ancient Egyptians compared the power of Pharaoh to the lion body of the king of beasts. Its head is carved according to the Pharaoh of khalaf, with a serious expression and staring into the distance. Officially, its nose was broken because of thousands of years of weathering.

history

Hafra Pyramid, one of the great pyramids in Egypt, has attracted the attention of scientists and tourists, because a huge sphinx stands beside it. This is one of the oldest statues in the world.

According to Egyptian legend, in 26 10 BC, Pharaoh khalaf came to the pyramid construction site west of Cairo to inspect his tomb, which was about to be completed. He thought that although he could go to heaven after death, people would never see his face, so he pointed to a boulder in the quarry and said, Carve my image on the rock completely.

A foreman liked it so much that he ordered his workers to carve a lion out of a boulder and replace its head with a statue of khalaf to symbolize the incomparable dignity of Pharaoh. In this way, the Sphinx stood beside the pyramid.
