1. Learn its name.
The first thing a puppy needs to learn is its name, and the shorter the name, the easier it is for it to remember.
_Call your puppy by his name from the beginning.
_Before you call his name, do something fun with your puppy so that he will be encouraged to follow your commands.
_When the puppy comes over when you call its name, praise it well and pet it.
_If it doesn't come right over, don't scold it - otherwise it will react even more slowly next time!
2. "No"
From the very beginning, you need to let your puppy understand the meaning of the word "no".
_The word "no" needs to be associated with anything forbidden, no matter what it is.
_The word "no" must be absolutely clear. Say "no" very clearly every time you see your puppy making a mistake.
_Your tone of voice should be harsh enough to get your puppy to stop misbehaving as soon as he hears "no."
3. Indoor training
Usually a puppy has not been indoor trained when it arrives at its new home, and it will not eat in its own resting area. It will be your job to teach it these very important skills.
_Take your puppy outside frequently, ideally every two hours. Indoor training will also progress slowly if you rarely take it outside.
_It is best to take your puppy out directly after every time he eats, wakes up and plays.
_When the puppy behaves well outdoors, give it full praise - words and caress.
_If you see your puppy spinning around indoors, ignore it until it starts doing other things before approaching it. Say "no" firmly to it, and then take it outside. . When it comes back from the outside, give it plenty of praise and caresses.
_Finally, don’t forget that no matter where you live – in the city, in the country or by the sea, you must take good care of your dog!
4. Sit/lie/stay in place
These three commands must be learned in order, so before you start teaching your puppy the next command, you must confirm that the previous command has been was completely understood. Wear a leash when you teach your puppy these commands.
Sit:
When the "sit" command is given, press down on the puppy's buttocks with one hand and lift its head with the other hand. Once the puppy has done this, give it full praise by calling its name or petting it.
Lie down:
Start by having your puppy sit down, then squat next to him. Gently pull its front paws forward and say the command "lie down" at the same time. Likewise, praise and pet your puppy when it completes a command.
Stay:
Start by asking your puppy to sit before adding a new “stay” command. Move away from him a little and if he stands up or follows you, say "no" and return him to a sitting position, repeating the "sit - stay" command. As your puppy gets used to this command, you can move further and further away from him. Of course, the puppy should always wear a leash during this training process.
