Pan Qingquan, 46 years old this year
Every morning at five or six o'clock
he comes to Nanhaizi Park,
Here he starts playing with swans A day of companionship.
"Since February 26th
After the first batch of little swans arrived at Nanhaizi Park,
there have been more than 400 swans. Only swans have been here.
At most, there are more than 140 on the water. "

The relationship between Pan Qingquan and swans
originated from an accidental "encounter".
- Swan Diary -
In November 2016, after the rain, a lot of sediment was stored in the depressions of Nanhaizi. In the water, Pan Qingquan saw a big goose entangled in a fishing net. When he got closer, he saw that it was not a domestic goose, but a mute swan! The swan wears a band around its neck that reads "F67". Pan Qingquan helped the swan untie the fishing line, but it was injured and could not fly.
The injured "F67" trusted Pan Qingquan very much. Winter is coming, and there is not much food to eat in Nanhaizi. Every day, Pan Qingquan would bring him peanuts and corn. There is always a time to say goodbye when we meet. When the lake froze into ice, "F67"'s injuries were finally healed, and it would continue to migrate south.
"From November 3 to mid-December 2016, I stayed with it for 39 days." Pan Qingquan said.

Pan Qingquan watched the swan leave, but he could not hide his reluctance and worry in his heart . He sent photos of "F67" to a national group of swan enthusiasts. Three days later, news came back from my hometown in Shandong: "F67" had arrived safely in Weihai. "It's safe! I'm relieved." Pan Qingquan said.
The next year, Pan Qingquan waited for "F67" again. It was still alone at that time, but it actually came to Nanhaizi with its partner.
In the third year, the family of five arrived at Nanhaizi on time.
In the fourth year, 48 were brought in at once.
In the fifth year, 86...
"As of March 31, more than 460 swans have stayed here for 33 days. It is estimated that they will stay here for another three days. Five days, this is the longest stay for a swan in the past six years," Pan Qingquan said proudly.

Both the number of swans and the number of days they stayed have broken the previous records of Nanhaizi Park. This also strengthened Pan Qingquan’s belief in continuing to photograph and protect swans.
"I hope everyone will not go to the water's edge and take pictures on the shore. Don't disturb the swans or feed the swans privately." Every time it comes to the "Nanhaizi Swan Season", Pan Qingquan and his film friends will Kindly remind unruly people to keep their distance from wild animals.

Today, Nanhaizi is becoming more and more lively, with crested pochards, pintail ducks, white-eyed pochards, mallards, crested grebes, White cranes and migratory birds come here to stay. All this is due to the gorgeous transformation of Nanhaizi's ecological environment and the enhancement of people's awareness of environmental protection.

After years of ecological management, the Liangshui River, the mother river that gave birth to most of the Nanhaizi, has shut down all chemical companies in the middle and upper reaches, and has closed the Liangshui River near Xiaohongmen. A sewage treatment plant was built on the west bank of the Liangshui River. The Liangshui River gradually becomes clearer and flows into the newly built Nanhaizi Country Park, forming a thousand acres of water surface and becoming the largest wetland natural ecological reserve in the south of Beijing.

"Whether it is a swan,
or an elk,
there are green waters and green mountains. Without these living creatures,
that is truly ecologically good.
