Trigeminal neuralgia, as its name implies, has three bifurcations. The forehead above the eyes is the first fork, which is called the first fork, and the middle between the eyes and the upper lip is called the second fork. The lower lip goes up to the front of the ear, which is called the third branch, namely trigeminal neuralgia. Trigeminal neuralgia has several characteristics: feeling pain, fear of brushing teeth, fear of washing face, fear of eating and fear of wind blowing. When the patient has this phenomenon, it may be trigeminal neuralgia. And the nature of pain is knife cutting, acupuncture and electric shock. Every attack lasts only a few seconds, which is equivalent to stabbing yourself in the face at 100, and recovering as normal people; Patients with trigeminal neuralgia will have severe facial pain, sometimes electric shock-like, knife-like or tearing-like pain, and the pain is very severe.
For patients with trigeminal neuralgia, the inducement should be avoided first. Secondly, we should treat the primary disease that induces trigeminal neuralgia, including controlling blood sugar and infection. Trigeminal neuralgia is often confined to the distribution area of trigeminal nerve 1 or 2 branches, and the upper and lower mandibular branches are more common. During the attack, it showed obvious and severe electric shock-like, acupuncture-like, knife-like or tearing-like pain on cheeks, jaws and tongue, which lasted for several seconds or 1 ~ 2 minutes, suddenly stopped and the interval was completely normal.
In severe cases, facial reflex convulsions may occur due to pain, and painful convulsions may occur when the mouth is pulled to the affected side. The course of the disease is periodic, the attack can reach several days, weeks or months, and the remission period is like ordinary people. With the extension of the course of the disease, the number of attacks increases gradually, the attack time is prolonged, the interval is shortened, and even the attack is persistent, and it rarely heals itself.
