Why is Erhai Lake called the sea?

The name "sea" comes from the customs of Yunnan. There is no sea in Yunnan, which lives deep inland, which makes local people yearn for the sea. No wonder there is a saying that "the lake is called the sea" in the jingle of eighteen eccentrics in Yunnan, and so are Yangzonghai and Qingshuihai in Kunming. In other words, lakes are often called "sea" in Yunnan.

Erhai Lake was finally named "Er" because it is "like a human ear" and "like a moon holding Er", hence the name. Erhai Lake, located in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, is the second largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province. Erhai Lake was also called Ye Yushui, Ye Yuhe, Ye Yuze, Xi 'er River, Hull River and Kunmichuan in ancient times.
