The leaves are thin leathery or papery, lanceolate or lanceolate-elliptical, dark green above and green below; the petioles are thin, pubescent, and have small grooves on them. Male flowers are clustered or integrated into tight, short cymes; pedicels are slender and short.

The propagation method of black persimmon:
Using grafting method, bud grafting should be carried out during the slow growth period. Young trees have two growth cycles in a year. The first growth cycle stops in mid-June, and the second growth cycle stops in mid-September.
Before stopping, the sap flows the slowest, which is conducive to graft healing. Therefore, the suitable periods for bud grafting are from late May to early June and from late August to early September.
According to experience, it is carried out in the flowering period from May to June. From the perspective of phenological phenomena, bud grafting can be carried out from the time when flowers appear on the branches until the fruit has grown to the size of a walnut.
