At present, the reservoir has jurisdiction over four irrigation areas, such as Zhitou, with an irrigated area of 3, mu, and there are many industrial and domestic water channels in Qingdao and Laixi, which can supply 5 million cubic meters of water every year.
In addition to its great role in flood control and irrigation, the Zhizhi Reservoir also develops freshwater aquaculture. At present, the aquaculture water surface reaches 25, mu, mainly including more than 2 species such as Lu fish and sturgeon. In recent years, a rare fish-whitebait has been developed, and its economic benefits are considerable. The reservoir also has a fish farm, with a fry hatchery of 2 mu, with an annual hatching capacity of 3 million. It is a production base for fry and fish in surrounding counties and cities.
In recent years, the Reservoir Management Bureau has also increased the development and utilization of tourism resources, and successively developed scenic spots, water sightseeing, long beach fishing and other tourism projects, which have become important tourist attractions in Qingdao and Shandong Peninsula.
